My family and I have been getting our hair done with Custom Cuts / Look After Salon for several years in Lake Saint Louis. I don't know why I still go to that salon because it always seems like we are interrupting the stylists every time we go into the salon. I always seem to get a negative vibe from the staff when we go in for haircuts, color, etc. It is like they don't want to be bothered, and that they would rather sit in the back and eat lunch or whatever they do in the back of the salon. In May of this year, I called about getting my 7 year old daughter a small braid put in where her bangs are growing out. I was quoted a price of $35.00....for a small, basic braid. I told them that was ridiculous because the Hairy Elephant and Regis Hair Salon only charges me $15.00 for a simple braid. I went to Regis the same day and got the braid for $15.00. That same month, I took my young son to the Lake Saint Louis location for a haircut at 6:50pm...we were turned away because the salon closes at 7:00pm. Today I called to see if I could get a late appt. for tomorrow for a haircut and style. I was told that the latest appt. for me could be at 4pm because they were saving space for walk-ins since back to school starts next Monday...really??? I don't understand why I am being prohibited to making a hair appt. for later in the evening, and I am a good paying customer that tips, and was told that I couldn't have a later appt. because the salon is holding spots for ""walk-ins"" on a Tuesday evening when school doesn't begin until next Monday. I can see where maybe they would hold spots on Wednesdays when kids cuts are cheaper, but not on a Tuesday. I am not happy with the staff at the Lake Saint Louis location. I always get overbid, turned away, or get the feeling I am bothering the staff when I need service.
