The Best Veterinary Hospital in the Metroplex 7/17/2009

My various lovable dogs have been patients at Custer Parkway Animal Hospital for over 30 years...since 1976...and I would never consider another clinic to take my pets. Besides bathing and housing my Labs, the vets have literally saved my dogs' lives several times over the years...from cancer to broken legs, from being run over by a car to minor things like tooth aches, bee stings and skin allergies. From taking care of my mutts in the '70s to my chocolate Labs in the 2000s, these doctors are all world class. Dr. Lee, who has since retired, was excellent in his field and Dr. Swinson, who I believe is now the owner of Custer Parkway Animal Hospital, is a true Godsend. She has revitalized the entire clinic, updated all the services (including the appearance of the place) and surrouded herself with a top-notch, dedicated hospital staff. Each and every time I have an appointment at the clinic, I make sure I ask for her. She not only knows what she's doing, but she takes time to explain everything to me or to my wife. It's obvious she cares about my dogs because they absolutely love seeing her. Plus, as expensive as today's medication is, she always tries to figure out a way to save me as much money as possible. This, I've never experienced in any form of doctor before...those who specialize in animals or humans! Like I said previously, the woman is a Godsend, and I've never met anyone quite like her before (and her staff is the same way). The only way this place could be better is if it was open 24/7. DOYLE WALKER, PLANO, TX. Pros: Always on time for appointment and a very caring staff Cons: The place is full of Aggies more

Thanks Custer Parkway! 12/3/2007

My experience with this hospital has been wonderful. Dr. Swinson is a very thorough doctor, and explains everything in great detail so that it is fully understood. The staff is caring, patient, and warm, and my cat loves them! They have a wonderful variety of different products for pets, and are very knowledgeable about all of them, helping you to make the right choices for your pet. When I was nervous about the outcome of my cat's health problem, Dr. Swinson and her staff helped a lot by explaining all of the possibilities and different treatment options. Dr. Swinson was very aggressive in her treatment plan, and it was a blessing! It saved my cat's life! Pros: The doctor and staff Cons: The two front doors are a little inconvenient more

Vet beware 11/25/2007

The concerns with this clinic is that they advertise a history in the area of 20-30 plus years which would indicate the more mature clients and their loved ones, "pets". My vist was with Andrea Swinson D.V.M. As an educated consumer I was beside myself with the scared tactics and agressiveness of this doctor in upselling services. It was so obvious that this was the technique used to bring in revenue, I felt compeled to write a review as it was be an injustice for this doctor to exploit the elderly with this style and mannerism of service, should that be the target. The one hour I sit in the office to hear the sell of what 'could' happen to my pet, was one of the most uncomfortable hours I have spent in any practice. Suggestion....find a professional, caring vet who is truely concerned about pet owners and there animals rather than conning for a buck on the invoice. RemainAnonymous more
