We picked a pumpkin, or two. 4/3/2006

Or maybe three or four. In October we decided it was time to pick a pumpkin, so we headed out to the Orchard and spent hours picking out pumpkins and having a great time with the kids. We picked the perfect pumpkins, there were many selections, and then paid. Of course the lines were crazy everyone was picking pumpkins but the store was well managed. There is a playground for the kids to play in, a store to buy all sorts of goodies, a petting farm, a maze or two to walk though, and I am sure all sorts of other things we just didn't get around to doing. The kids had a blast and so did we. I can't wait to go and pick some apples for the kids I am sure that will be just as enjoyable. more

So fun! 3/22/2006

This is a must do at least every fall. They have so many fun things, like apple picking and pumpkin gathering. You can walk out to the pumpkin patch and pick your pumpkin. They have a great little store with yummy stuff like pies, fresh donuts, apple cider, etc. It's a great place to take a family because kids will LOVE running around in the pumpkin patch or in the apple orchards, and then there are sweet treats in the store just waiting for them! more

I came from a town near a big city so when I moved to here and got a chance visit Curtis Orchard, everything was so fun. It has apple trees for you to pick up the apples and pumpkins. I don't like to eat apples but it is fun to pick them up. It has a store that sells some products. Many of them are made by apples. It also has some beautiful landscape installation so people can take some fun photos. more

Apple Pickin' 8/20/2005

This is one of the rites of passage for anyone going to school at the University of Illinois. You must go there, pick apples, maybe a pumpkin, have an apple donut, and generally have fun. I think I’ve adequately described the fun there. There’s also an area for little kids to play in, a petting zoo and other fun little things. more

Fun orchard and pumpkin patch. This place gets very busy in the fall with good reason. The kids have a great time. There is apple picking and a huge pick your won pumpkin patch (get there earlier in the season for best selection.). Wagons are provided to help you haul your pumpkin back. There is a petting zoo, an area for the kids to play, musical entertainment, and a great country store. For many families in central Illinois visiting Curtis Orchard has become a yearly tradition. more

Curtis Orchard is alot of fun especially if you have young kids. We have visited them several times around the time of Halloween to pick pumpkins. They have some small farm animals such as goats and chickens that my daughter loves to watch. There is also a small playground that even has a small hayloft you can jump out of into the hay. Wagons are available to put your kids or pumpkins in. There is a nice snack shop on site where they make fresh doughnuts and have hot apple cider. The gift shop has a wide variety of items including really good pumpkin butter. more
