I really wanted to like this place because this entire county is lacking in a good Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience is summed us as decent food with horrible service.
The place is small and it looks like there's only one waiter, who might even have been the owner. The place was about half full when my friend I arrived for dinner. It took quite a while before the waiter came to take our food order, but I just brushed it off. My first real negative experience came when the waiter forgot my drink order. It wasn't until after they came to take the appetizer plates away that I had to remind them that I still haven't gotten my beer. I didn't get much of an apology either. My second negative experience was at the end of the meal. We had two half orders of bread left and some leftover eggplant. He didn't ask at all whether or not we wanted any of it to go. He only asked if we were done and focused on taking the food away. Unfortunately, I didn't react quickly enough. The third negative experience was that we weren't asked if we wanted dessert. In fact, the waiter only came by once soon after we received our food. Once the food was taken away, we were never approached again. I had to go up to the bar to ask for a refill on my water. It's not a far walk, but the lack of attention counted as the fourth negative. On top of it all, it wasn't like everyone was treated this way. The couple next to me was approached so many times that I think they were actually friends with the waiter. My friend and I were both dressed in business casual and our final bill was over $70, so I don't know what the deal was.
Regarding the food, the only thing I can say is really good is the goat dish. The bread was just standard and the eggplant and fish dishes weren't memorable at all. It's decent enough that I would like to give this place a try again, but after the horrible experience (which drove me to finally sign up for a Yelp account), I rather not go back. I might consider take out, though, if I'm really craving Indian food. I really regret not tipping less than 15%. I am surprised I am so upset over this, but maybe part of it is that the next closest good Indian food place is at least 30 minutes away.
Pros: Goat on the menu
Cons: Some dishes are nothing special. Horrible waiter service.
