Excellent Coffee 4/5/2006

Cup of Joe is the best coffee shop in raleigh in my opinion. the coffee here is made a little different than you will find at your local Starbucks, and they roast their beans themselves locally which says a lot for their quality. This particular location has a huge smoking section which is great for us smokers who want to be able to have a cup of Joe and a cig at the same time. As far as I knwo this is the only coffee shop in the area that still has a smoking section. more

Great Specials! 4/3/2006

Cup of Joe has the privledge of being a local chain, which means I, off the bat, love them a billion times more than I'll ever love a chain. That said, it is quite smoky in there - if you're a non-smoker, stay in the main room or get it to go. Their specials are quite good. For a few years (don't know if they still do - the smoke gets to me and I can't go there anymore) they ran a "Wired Wednesday" promo where you basically got an extra shot or two of espresso for a quarter in your drinks. The iced king mocha and I got through a summer together. Definately worth the short walk from campus. more

Cup Of Smoke 1/31/2006

This HUGE coffee shop oon hillsborough street is commonly refferred to as "cup of smoke" rather than cup of joe because of the HUGE smoking section available....the drinks here are great and the staff is always friendly. Theyhave free wi-fi for customers which is always good, and if you are a smoker, you can smoke here :O) more
