Best Restaurant In SA 8/18/2004

I have dined at many restaurants in SA and Crumpets by far is one of my favorites. The food is excellent, the service is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. The wine list is very extensive and gives you a much better option then most restaurants. The employees and managers make you feel like a VIP. I highly recommend this restaurant. more

ihave had many diner at this restaurant that is the best kept secret in SA. the rack of lamb is fantastic so is the duck breast, ihave never had but wonderfull food and great service. .the deserts are truly european (real butter.real cream) and the wine list is large and price well bellow any other restaurant.lets not forget the wonderfull setting,and beautifull patio. more

Delightful atmosphere alone is worth the experience. Charming,romantic waterfalls in woodland setting. Note fireflies in evening. Suggest piping music to patio. Food is good - not GREAT. Prices high for value. Twice this week, chicken entrees were mediocre, salad small & waitstaff poorly 'groomed'. Pros: Romantic, Friendly, Casual Cons: , Parking limited, waitstaff appearance more

Devine Experience 11/12/2002

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at Crumpets very recently and they made the experience wonderful. They were extremely helpful, willing to work with us on all the arrangements from food to flowers, cake to ceremony. The reception was so great everyone talked about the entire time and called and left wonderful messages about its elegance and class. The food was delicious and the cake was so good our guest wanted more. I could not have asked for better atmosphere, food, spirits or wedding cake. I have extremely pleased with everything and would do it all over again. Pros: great food, good atmosphere, great service Cons: limited parking more

Having traveled extensively, we were told about Crumpets several years ago and delighted to find such an enjoyable dining experience...We've explored the great menu ( my personal favorite is their 'Trilogy': lobster tail, rack of lamb and tenderloin) which reminds us of Europe, along with the many, many desserts. Their extensive wine list has never left us wanting...and dining out on the patio with the waterfalls and in-house cat is an experience we look forward to every week...especially when there's live music...The service is impeccable, never invasive but attentive to our needs. A BIG LET DOWN 8/26/2002

Problems problems problems. Bad waiteress, bad cook, bad manager. First it was over cooked meat, broken bearnaise sauce, empty tea glasses and at the end of meal when pointed out to managment was looked at as being wrong and more of a problem rather than finding a way to fix the problem.
