Now that I've moved away, I usually stay at this Crowne Plaze when we're visiting family that still live in the area. The location is great, close to freeways and quaint downtown Ventura. Plus we love that it's right on the water - ask for an ocean view room. We've had a room on the other side a few times and there's still a nice view. The only thing we hate is the $10 per day parking fee. For real? We're already plunking a few Benjis for a three day weekend so I'd rather they win me over with perceived value and just hide it in their room rates. Other than that, it's pretty clean but the rooms are showing some wear and the freeway is pretty loud with the balcony door cracked even just a little bit. But the friendly service and the bartender Aaron make up for all that and the parking fee. However, do know I travel frequently for work both domestically and internationally - I've stayed at far worse for much more and Crowne is a decent place to stay that won't really break the bank. Pros: Location to downtown and free ways, mostly clean Cons: Parking fee, Freeway noise more

I just stayed here and it is beautiful. It was recently remodeled to the rooms were very pretty and clean. I had an ocean view room and i booked it through priceline. Although it is near a train and freeway it was not a bother. Great hotel more

booked this place through priceline. Took the train and the station is only a few blocks from the hotel. We walked downtown and along the boardwalk. Hotel has been remodeled. Great stay and wonderful views. more

Oh my we really liked this place. It was a amazing. We just spent one night as we were vacationing up the coast. The hotel is right where the action is. The view of the ocean was incrediable and you can walk to beach and peir. The staff was a great and really made our stay comfortable. I had never stayed in Ventura and really enjoyed the time there. more

Great steaks, the Lobster my Wife ordered was the best... along with truffle fries and mushrooms. Service was great and an ocean view to die for, we'll be back. more
