While this hotel is conveniently located, it is NOT a 4 star hotel or resort by any means. I would have given it a 3-star rating (the room and amenities are similar to a Holiday Inn Express) had our credit card not been fraudently used after we checked out. Our card was charged for an additional SIX NIGHTS, with the charge posted TEN DAYS AFTER WE LEFT. It took over a week with many, many phone calls (rude, uncaring responses and endlessly on hold) to get the money credited. Thank you Isabel for being the only staff person who didn't put us on hold and actually worked to rectify the situation. What an EXPENSIVE NIGHTMARE. When we arrived and were unloading our vehicle, the bellhops ignored us and didn't even open the doors as we hauled in our luggage and bags. The only time they spoke to us was to tell us to move the car out of the way NOW. The Starbucks doesn't open until after 7 am and ""hotel gift shop"" consists of one shelf of toiletries (not a big deal, but not ""resort"" standards by any means). There were lots of little things wrong with our room (like no place to put toiletries in the bathroom, we couldn't get the temp adjusted b/c the thermostat didn't really respond, etc.), but nothing major. On the upside, the pool was nice and again, the location is excellent. If you need anything you have easy access to Hallandale Drive which has all the basics - grocery, etc. Please note that this hotel is not on the beach. You have to walk across Ocean Blvd (which is really busy) and pay for a chair if you want one. Parking was over $14/night but the wireless internet was free in the room. In short, if you can get in for less than $95/night it might be worth it, but check out at the front desk when you leave (don't just leave your key in the room) and KEEP THE PAPERWORK as proof b/c it was clear that the fraudulent charge thing had happened before. Come on Crowne Plaza, TRAIN YOUR STAFF!!!
Pros: Location is convenient.
Cons: Staff is rude at best
