Yummy eats for both vegetarians & omnivores 1/20/2010

At the foot of one of Joshua Tree National Park's entrances lies the unassuming, quirky yet completely unpretentious Crossroads Cafe. Their organic coffees are strong and tasty, and the staff is easygoing and ready to veganize most of their sizeable yet totally affordable plates if you desire. I went for both dinner and breakfast during our brief stay in town, and it was great both times. Help yourself to the silverware, and don't forget to bus your own plate at the end of the meal. more

No fried food (I don't think they have a deep fryer) so you won't get fries with that veggie burger -- but the omelettes are good, and the sandwiches are always hearty and tasty. Friendly service, with microbrews on tap and a full array of espresso drinks available too. Pros: Good food 'n drinks with a bohemian twist Cons: No fries, chai tea is a little watery more
