Truly the absolute rudest cashiers I have ever encountered. They do not acknowledge your presence only your money. Over and over again I regret shopping there.

Arrogant and Disrespectful Manager 10/26/2011

Found a large (dead) grasshopper in their spinach that I purchase...took the merchandise back to the store and spoke to management..who was verry rude and kept telling me "this was not purchase from here" meaning to me, that I was a liar, then kept saying that the band that was wrap around the base of the spinach is not from his store...I explained that this store is the only store i purchase my fruits and vegetables... more

cross island is like any other of its kind; you can't beat the prices of the produce anywhere. but the real gems are in the meat, fish & baked goods department. they have the most delicious brick oven bread around! it definitely beats driving to brooklyn. more

My family has lived here and gone to Cross Island since it opened. The owners of this stores are crooks. The cashiers are rude and pocket money. It's a lose lose situation. Maybe they should set fire to their own store again in order to burn all the proof that they are indeed crooks trying rip off hard-working people more

Excellent Store/Great prices 7/6/2009

Great store with prices that supermarkets can't even come close to! Great flowers & plants there too! Their groceries are also priced well below local supermarkets. Friendly help. more

Great fruit great price 9/20/2005

The fruit here is the best around and the prices are also very reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful, they will even help you chose what fruit is the ripest and tell you how to get the best fruit available. I love this store and the staff, that is why I will return here and recommend it to everyone. more

Cross Island Fruit 8/20/2005

Cross Island Fruit is one of those stores that you'd really miss if you suddenly moved elsewhere. Aside from having a huge variety of fruits and vegetables, at prices that supermarkets can't even touch -- this megastore also has a butcher, a bakery, a fish shop, and a newsstand inside. In addition, they have seasonal specialties like Easter baskets and Christmas trees and wreaths. You really can't go wrong with anything you buy at Cross Island Fruit -- just try to get there early to avoid the crowds. more

I'd Cross the Entire Island To Go There! 8/18/2005

Cross Island Fruit Market has always been the best place around for fruits and vegetables. There have been mutiple fires in the store but that has not kept this place down. It's been renovated and is now better than ever! The butcher located inside the store is also amazing. Some of the best steaks and sausages I've ever eaten have come from that place. more
