If I ever move back to TX, Crockett Park is something I will miss. The park is manicured to perfection, and the upkeep of all facilities is top notch. The trail is great for jogging, and I often encounter deer when I run in the late evening time. The ampitheatre is very cool, I just wish I could find out when upcoming performances will take place. Pros: upkeep, many activities offered, free more

Crockett and River Park 5/25/2007

Crockett and River Parks are both excellent parks. Something for everyone to enjoy. However, I rollerblade there and in the last three years the asphalt has become broken and very rough in spots. Also, the bridge at River Park is very, very rough and the trail just beyond the bridge parallel to the river. I find it more an more difficult to skate. At times the paths are crowded and it's often a decision whether to run someone down or take a dive in the area along the path to avoid a rough spot. I usually choose to bail, which results in cuts, abrasions and bruises. If you don't make it to the grass and subsequently scrap the asphalt, because of the roughness of the asphalt, the parts of your flesh that aren't covered with padding will get scrapped to the bone. Skaters beware! Pros: Ambience is great Cons: Trails are not wide enough, and very rough pavement, standing water on trails. more

Great park, with over 4 miles of paved trails on a fairly flat landscape this is an awesome place to rollerblade, plenty of lighted tennis courts, and never too crowded, also a great place to take kids with several playgrounds, and fields to kick the soccer ball around or fly a kite, it also connects with the concord road YMCA, and their cool skate park Pros: paved trails, not crowded, free Cons: lack of flowers more
