I went in for the $28 new patient special (xrays, exam). While I was seated, a woman came in and cleaned my teeth as well. I thought "wow, I didn't even see that included -- how cool!". When I went up front to pay, I was given a bill for $150. Apparently the cleaning was $122 extra. As I was never told this information, or asked for the cleaning I refused to pay. Not sure if this was a fluke, or something they regularly try to do on new patients.
I needed a few fillings. One of my fillings seemed to have a slight crack in it and continued to hurt. I went in and was told that was normal. After a few months, pus started coming out of my gum, so I went back in. I was referred to a specialist for a root canal, and then told I could come back for a crown. He would only refer me to one specialist which charged $1600 for the root canal, and then his price for the crown was $1400. A few days later my tooth literally cracked open at the crack line I had seen. (I was only chewing gum BTW!)
I feel as though as soon as I paid for my fillings, my concerns were dismissed, and that shoddy work and follow up led to the infection and cracking. I won't be going back to get my tooth fixed...
