Best

We had the best time here, the food was pretty good and the service very friendly. Our wait was average so we did not have any problem waiting. In general, a great place to go! ...

Worst

the food and b'fast vareity was great but that's it. once again, another restuarant that cops an attitude when they've got lines out the door. The service is unattentive and dow...

One of the BEST in Atlanta 9/14/2005

i'm a longtime fan of this home-spun Decatur favorite. don't believe the few negative comments. the only time i don't recommend going is during brunch; the line's just too long. but any other time, your belly will love you for stopping here. the food is extraordinary, so flavorful and generous portions. the staff is from the area and they work their tails off and keep it all moving. i've never gotten less than a big smile and 'thanks for coming', when i visit. but it's the food, the food, the food... SUPERB, FRESH, FABULOUS. Pros: amazing food, great portions, cheap Cons: lines for brunch more

Wait until you try the food 10/23/2004

As everywhere else in Atlanta expect to wait for a table for brunch on the weekends. But here you can also expect to wait for your order to come out, expect to wait to see the waitress again after it comes and expect to wait for any drink to be refilled. But the food is good and almost worth the wait. Pros: Large Portions, Good Food, Good variety on menu more

Lovin' it 2/5/2004

This is the first place my now-fiance and I went for a meal together--it was Sunday brunch, followed by a stroll around Decatur. Something about the ambiance, the booths for two next to the windows, the cheerful service--not to mention the great whole-wheat hotcakes--made the day really special. The owner really knows how to keep things real. Pros: Great value, Friendly crowds, Great management more

Fabulous, terrific, awsome. 8/15/2003

this place is wonderful, couldn't say enough good about it. The food is well prepared. The service is as good as it can be. They get VERY busy on the weekends. Best restaurant coffee EVER. Plenty of yummy leftovers.Very clean place! They don't charge for coffee in the waiting room. Never have to me anyway. Crab cakes and Mimosa's...Mmmmmmmm. Also, America,Waiters are people too. BE NICE. They are doing all they can at the Moon. Wonderful place Everyone should Go there. Do it now. DO the best brunch in GA. (but go early as you can, very busy day) Pros: awsome breakfast, Desserts!! Oh MY!!, Extemely Clean Cons: Parking is few, near taco mac ,ugh., Rob is Married.Sigh. more

great food, but nothing more 5/28/2003

the food and b'fast vareity was great but that's it. once again, another restuarant that cops an attitude when they've got lines out the door. The service is unattentive and down-right rude when they do come around. and what's the deal with them charging you for the shot glasses of coffee while you sit in the waiting area! the dining area is cramped, and the food only comes in XXL and XXXL portions (i.e., no way to eat it all). My bill rediculous when you tack on the $5 for OJ and another $3 for coffee. Pros: food quality Cons: price, service, atmosphere more

In a word...Great! 11/20/2002

On one of my many excursions to Atlanta, a few friends and I happened upon this snazzy little bistro. All it took was once to taste those Belgium pancakes and I am hooked for life! more

scrumptious! 11/17/2002

My first visit to Crescent Moon started with a bit of scepticism due to the crowd out front of the restaraunt. DO NOT, I reapeat, DO NOT let this detour you from stepping inside to put your name on the waiting list. In only a few minutes we were seated and started our brunch. Great full-bodied coffee started the meal. The dishes were served quickly and steaming hot. The portions were enough for even my brother who usually does buffets instead of brunches. I recomend trying each of the menu items when possible because they are all delicious. My hats off to the chef! Steve Lanier more

Too Much attitude, Not worth the wait 9/16/2002

Way too snotty an attitude to deal with on a weekend morning . The dishes cost more than Thumbs Up, and aren't as good! more

  • The Scene
Full-to-bursting with Hanna-Barbera colors, unique countertop designs and gold sparkle vinyl, this small, playful restaurant is a whole lot of '50s sci-fi. Its decor features stars, moons and planets, as well as luminous clusters of multi-sized globe lamps. Better known as a weekend brunch destination, the restaurant's also becoming popular as a reliable lunch and dinner spot.

    The Food
Crescent Moon thrives on the eggs-all-day routine, built out by burgers, inventive sandwiches and comfort food dinners. To-go biscuit sandwiches draw an early crowd of business folks from downtown Decatur. The basic breakfast, known as The Usual, offers two eggs, bread, meat, and grits or potatoes, and gives you energy to burn well through lunch. Other stars include innovative wraps, and specialty meal-in-one challah French toast that's worth a special trip. For weekend brunch, try Custer's last breakfast--a delicious combination of corn cakes, poached eggs and chipotle Hollandaise.
