Great bargain bin! 8/22/2006

I haven't liked the new location of Creative Hands because it is hard to get through -- the shelves are too close together and the featured yarns are not the best ones, like they were at the last location. (At least not my favorites.) However, they do have front and center their sale section, which makes it very easy to find something cheap! more

Great discount section! 8/12/2006

I used to shop at this store until they moved and got much more difficult to get around in. You definitely can't get a stroller into the lanes, and often not even yourself! However, they do have three "odd ball baskets" and other discount yarn, buttons and patterns right near the door so you can get in and get out. They have a small set of toys and are friendly to kids, and an easily accessible bathroom. They also have a membership, where you can pay $20 and get 10% off for a year (some sales you get 15% off). more

Soon to move to Belmont! 4/4/2006

This is a good, all encompassing yarn store. They have a lot of popular brands, as well as some upscale yarns and some cheaper yarns that are good for baby and kid items. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a "membership" that you pay $20 for a year and get 10% off every time you buy from them for that year. Depending on how much you spend there it can be really worth it. more

Creative Hands is moving! 3/9/2006

My favorite local yarn shop, Creative Hands, is moving from San Carlos to Belmont on April 4th! They already have a great list of knitting and crocheting classes, a good selection of yarn and supplies and friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint about the store is their hours - - they are closed Mondays and inevitably that is the day I want to buy something! But I like to stop by just to check out their great "oddball basket"! more

Only Knit shop I go to! 8/8/2005

This is right on El Camino, so sometimes parking can be a pain. But it's worth it. The knitting patterns here are great and so is the yarn. They have all the knitting needles and accessories you would need. As you find in most knit shops, when you walk in, there is invariably someone knitting! The employees love knitting and know what they are doing and can advise you. They will make sure you have the right project for your abilities. Classes are offered as well. more
