I was very disappointed with the service at Gate City Collision. They had my car sitting in their lot for 16 days before requesting my insurance company for an additional appraisal. They actually had to have the damage on my car reappraised by my insurance company a third time after having my car for 3 weeks! They continuously pushed the completion date out further and further. They took so long to fix my vehicle that my rental coverage ran out (30 days). They blatantly lied to me and told me all the delays were caused by my insurance company. When I confronted my insurance representative about the accusation he had the proper documentation that proved Gate City caused all the delays, which he showed to the Gate City manager. I spoke with the manager several times requesting they pay for the additional rental charges since they had my car for a total of 37 days!!! The manager told me, ?This is just how the business works and that it isn?t their responsibility to cover the additional days.? He was extremely smug, rude, and condescending. Was it not worth him and Gate CIty Collision $40/day to cover my rental rather than have me write this review? He reluctantly agreed to pay 3 out of the 6 days (after several calls), which clearly shows that he admitted blame for the delays!
The final kick to the head was Gate City Collision called me at 4:30pm on a Friday to finally come pick up my car at 5pm. As I arrived they called me on my cell and said the car wouldn?t be done on time! There was no explanation as to why 30 minutes prior everything was on schedule and now it was not possible for me to pick up my car. I ended up getting an additional day on my rental bill due to this additional delay. Overall it was the WORST customer service experience I have ever encountered.
I wish I had read some of the reviews on Gate City Collision before bringing my vehicle to them. There were so many negative reviews, some depicting my EXACT scenario showing that this is how they routinely do business. Then confirming it all, I found they have the negative rating of D on the BBB. I hope that people out there read this review because it will save you over a month of aggravation and disappointment. Plus there are far better rated auto body collision places in the Nashua, NH area. This is also a notice for all the insurance companies that deal with Gate City since they will lie and manipulate to make themselves look good at your expense. Beware!!!
