Cracovia Restaurant & Bar

I went there last year and loved the food. The wait staff where pleasant enough. But at the same time there were a few rude ones. I do understand Polish. The music should be sang in Polish. I was hoping to hear some Polish tunes that I knew. He sang American songs and when I asked him to sing some Polish music, he finally did sing one song and the rest was back to American songs. When I go to German resturant I sing and dance to German music. I plan on going back and hope that this has changed. We are the customers and when we like a place, all it takes is word of mouth and you will have a busy resturant. more

My significant other and I frequent this place as it is incredibly good Polish food and is a good price, especially at lunch, and you get a decent amount of food. The atmosphere is also really nice (which you would not guess by its location). The only reason I gave it less than five stars is because the other day when we went there at happy hour and got buy one get one vodka shots. The one ordered said it was $3.50 per shot. When we got the bill we were surprised to see that there was a $9 charge for the 2 shots that we bought. When we asked the waitress about it she responded with a rude ""Oh, is happy hour right now?"" (It was clearly advertised boldly on the menu for the whole time that we were in the restaurant). And THEN when we told her she accidentally charged us $4.50 for the $3.50 shots she proceeded to explain to us that the price stated on the menu was wrong and that it is supposed to be $4.50. She finally took it off with a really nasty attitude. In conclusion, great food, but one awful waitress should be fired and take a lesson in customer service. more

Are you tired of chain restaurants? Why not visit Cracoiva, a family owned restaurant at 94th & Wadsworth. They offer authentic home-cooked Polish food - and yes they have some American entrees for those who may be afraid to take the plunge! For ethnic food, it is tops and I have visited Poland twice! For lunch there is a fixed price menu which includes choice of soup or salad plus your entree - a very good deal - as the portions are generous. Be prepared to sit back and relax and experience some Old World charm. They also have a dance floor and music on the weekends. more

I never had Polish food before this place so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was delicious! Very different but full of flavor and inexpensive. The service was not very good, they weren't attentive to our drinks and never checked back once we had our food, but the food definitely made up for it. more

Loved everything we ate here, and my husband and I pigged out. Highly recommend their basic barzsch with sour cream and potatos, the cabbage roll, the Szynel, (oh my, I know I'm butchering these words haha), the kompot, and my husband really enjoyed his Koperniki beer...or whatever. :) We spent way too much, but it's moderately priced--we just had to taste everything! The beetroot salad is fabulous as well! On Friday & Saturday nights (and on Valentine's Day!), a musician comes in and sings and plays his..trumpet. There's a separate dance floor! Can't wait to go back--and in fact I am on Wednesday with my girlfriends! Pros: Great food & live music! Cons: Slightly understaffed? more
