Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

First off, let me admit that I'm not a local to upstate New York. But I do travel, and let me tell you that this Cracker Barrel is very nice. The service is actually very good (unlike at the Cracker Barrel near me in South Jersey), and the country store is a lot of fun. I didn't even have to wait for a seat. I was here in August (right before Hurricane Katrina), and they already had the Christmas stuff out- so I thought that was a bit early. Anyways... The food was great. It was good country cooking like they advertise. It came out promptly and the decor was very nice. It made me feel at home. Also, if you are en route to Lake George, I recommend stopping here since it is a good value that you won't find once you're there. I remember that this restaurant was right off the New York State Thruway (I-87) or is it the Skyway? I get confused. It was near a Wal-Mart Supercenter and a Home Depot (Halfmoon Crossing) and there was a gas station and a motel right off the exit for Clifton Park. Hopefully I helped someone! more

Cracker barrel definitely has the small town/ country feel. The store has cute gifts and has great sales, especially before Christmas. The restaurant is great too. The prices are decent and there is a wide selection to choose from, so picky eaters will probably find something. The servers are nice and friendly and the food comes relatively quickly. The food is great too! more
