New StoryCrabtree is the newest forest preserve nature center. It sits on more than a thousand acres of rolling, glacier-formed landscape. After more than a century of changes made by humans to the natural habitat, Crabtree is slowly returning nature to us.What You'll SeeSpring and fall bring thousands of ducks and geese to Crabtree Lake. Also in spring, wildflowers carpet the forested areas, as do summer and autumn blossoms in the meadows and prairies. An exhibit building and several miles of self-guided educational trails allow visitors to enjoy and learn about the wildlife.
