The food was very good overall. Fried oysters were well seasoned and fried to perfection. Others had the whole belly clams, and while they enjoyed them, they seemed a bit overfried. The hit of the evening was the Maryland Crab cake. This was what real crab cakes are supposed to be like. Full of lump crab meat and not all filler and flaked. Since it's hard to get ""real"" Maryland crab cakes in Florida, we will certainly go back and have them again. You also choose two sides with the entrees, and there were multiple choices. The stewed tomatoes were delightful. Prices are very reasonable, and I must say that the martini's were also pretty good and extremely reasonable in price. We would definitely return. more

The best thing about our meal was the Gator bites appetizer -- they cooked the gator perfectly. When it's overdone, gator is rubbery. This wasn't. The gator was tender and tasty even though it was deep fried. more

We had one of the best lunches that we have ever had there!!! My husband and I asked for a cup of clam chowder and their cup was a bowl. It was the best clam chowder we had ever eaten in our lives! The rest of our lunch was really good, but we couldn't get past the outstanding chowder. Our waitress was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Can't wait to go back there again on our next visit to Florida! more

All I can say is clam chowder. You don't eat anything else, just have a bowl. When we went back to Florida for vacation, we drove out here just to have it. You won't be sorry. more

Very good. We had the fried seafood patter- scallops shrimp oysters and haddock. Huge portion with great breading. The scallop and shrimp were very large and tasty. They offer a huge variety of sides- most southern style and awesome. Service was great; our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. She checked back frequently and seemed very sincere. Wish we had room for dessert it looked fantastic! a must try while in Tampa bay !!\r more

The seafood is always good here, and this weekend we went with some non-fish eaters and they enjoyed the non-fish choices. The restaurant is nothing to look at from the road, and the decor is fish camp like, but the food is good and the prices are reasonable. more

we went for our anniversary and were very impressed. We hadn't been there in about 5 years and it was much improved. Our waitress, Amber, was very friendly, attentive, and well informed. the food was fantastic, portions very large. If you go smaller size portions are more than enough. I can't say enough about the place and plan on returning soon. We live in the area year round and may wait til the crowds leave...or not. Plan on taking family there when they visit. more

Crab Trap was a good ""half way"" point to meet friends from Clearwater. Our meal turned out very good. I had the breaded sea scallops which were cooked perfectly. The black beans and rice was really good. The best part was a delicious spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. I would come back just to get the spinach salad. You can order meals in either regular or large portion size. The regular sized portion was more than enough. My husband enjoyed the talapia as well. Service was quick and pleasant. more
