We’re in Redmond, and looking for lunch. I look at Citysearch and come across Coyote Creek. It has some pretty decent reviews and we think why not? We head to the new Redmond location. It looks like it’s been opened fairly recently.
It’s a little past lunch, which explains the lack of crowd. There are two tables seated in the restaurant, but several tables that need bussing. Well, maybe they’re just short staffed.
We are seated and look through the menu. We saw a calzone on a plate when we arrived that looked promising, so we’re hopeful. It’s a good 15 minutes after we’re seated before we see anyone working the floor. We’re the 3rd table in the restaurant. I move the dial on my watch to time this. Someone finally comes out after 20 minutes and takes our drink order- we also give our salad and pizza order. The waiter seems nice enough- a little stressed out, and I’m not sure I really understand what he’s babbling about. Hmmm. He talks to the table close to us and says some things that we’re not sure we’d say to customers and we begin to wonder if he’s off his meds, on something weird, or “drinking the kool-aid”. We’re actually discussing this by this point.
After another 22 minutes, our waiter arrives with our pizza. We inquire about our beverages and salads. He looks a little dumbfounded. Yeah. Definitely, the kool-aid or “something”. He’s babbling something about being up for 3 days and needs to sleep because he’s working all night..............I don’t understand. It overshadows the food and experience.
The pizza has a nice crust, and is okay. The salads are extremely over dressed, and the spinach salad must have a 1/2 pound of bacon bits on it. The house ice tea was good.
Definitely not going to return. The whole experience was a little too weird and the food was a big disappointment on top of the weirdness.
Just a note- the waiter was nice enough, just a few holes short of being a fruit loop.
If I was the owner and had that much invested in the equipment, decor and location. Well. I’d be a little concerned.
Pros: crispy crust?
Cons: the staff & food
