Step inside an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and enjoy the taste of fresh ice cream. That's Coyle's. Some booths on the left, a soda fountain on the right and a cornucopia of fresh ice cream flavors to rival Baskin-Robbins' 31. I can't emphasize how fresh the ice cream tastes! There are pre-packed ice cream treats in a freezer in the rear, but I always step up to the counter and try whatever flavor suits my fancy that particular visit. Shakes, malts, waffle cones, sundaes, egg creams. You name it; you'll almost surely find it. Coyle's is a Great South Bay treasure. Pros: Fresh ice cream, atmosphere more

BEST HOMEMADE ICE CREAM ON LONG ISLAND WITH 60 FLAVORS 9/16/2008

Best ice cream on Long Island - and you can count on that for sure. Anyone going to this store once will surely return many more times. The owners are GREAT and they have a wonderful staff to wait on you. Pros: ATMOSPHERE, LOTS OF FLAVORS TO CHOOSE, KARAOKE NIGHT , FRIENDLY STAFF more

An old time ice cream "" joint "" 5/17/2008

I have been going here for about 6 years and have always found the place to be friendly and with great atmosphere. Like an old 50/60's ice cream shop there is always great music and lots of specials. Great Ice Cream, Lousy Owner 6/25/2007

The ice cream is great, but in Mr. Coyle's own words ""I tell my staff that the customer is not alway's right. The only one who is always right in my store is me"". So if you ever have an issue that inspires you to go to him for help, that's the attitude you can expect. We will never go there again after going steadily for 18 years. Pros: Ice cream, friendly kids Cons: Owner is not a nice guy at all. more

Old Fashioned and Delicious 6/19/2006

The first time I tried Coyle's was at a party for school. My coach brought a chocolate-banana cake from Coyle's. It was delicious! I decided to see what else the place offered so I went there and tried chocolate raspberry. Right after I was done I tried another flavor, chocolate banana. Awesome. The place reminds me of a 50's malt shop. Pictures of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean are hung up. This place is great for kids, dates, and groups. Very old fashioned, and the flavors are amazing!
