Dryer wouldn't heat up. When they arrived, they quoted $145 plus tax for a part, and $120 in labor to install it. My wife said for that price it must take an hour and half of work, but they said no, it would take about 10 minutes. Based on that statement, my wife paid their $35 service call fee and declined their offer.
I was able to pick up the part locally for $32, and even though I'd never worked on this dryer before I was able to install it in less than 5 minutes. Reasonable mark-ups of parts and labor prices are expected, but 500% is out of line.
