Coursey Urgent Care

So my wife had a UTI, and i knew she needed amoxicillin. So we went down to the Coursey Urgent care, and found it was now a 'Lake After Hours'... Well, the visit was 120, and we were told there would be a lab bill arriving later for the urinalysis. Ok, no problem... He wrote a prescription for amoxicillin, as i knew he would and headed out. Well, next week we got a bill for the urinalysis... 35 bucks, all god, i was prepared for anything up to 100... 3 weeks later we got another bill... from Our Lady of the Lake... for $221... For the 'Use of their equipment'. I demanded a itemized letter, and it was sent... For one person to put 3 drops of urine into a spectro-chromatograph and confirm, yes it is bacterial, they want $221. I had been going to Coursey Urgent Care for years and had no problems. I won't be back to Lake After Hours, or Our Lady of the Lake, (which, they will be happy to inform you are not associated, btw...) Outrageous. $400 to write a 8 dollar prescription for a week of antibiotics. more

Dr. Gavin is the best. He is a wonderful emergency/trauma doctor and the office is a great place to visit. People think that when they go to a walk in clinic, they don't have to pay because they have an emergency. If you think that, go to Earl K. Long. This is an excellent facility with a first rate doctor who cares about his patients. The office is immaculate and the service first rate. It's like visiting your old time family physician. You will be well taken care of in this facility. more

I understand the concern in a previous review about them demanding payment when you walk in, but can you really blame them? I bet they like any other business are just trying to make a buck and don't want to get screwed due to non-payment and I understand that. Besides that though, the phone number listed here (225-753-1515) is WRONG. The correct number is actually 225-755-1400. more

From the minute you walk in you are demanded payment, I agree this is ok, but the lady is so sour. There is no one there that make you feel comfortable. You are obviously in there because you are injured or sick, but you are just a number going thru.\r The Dr. is somewhat nice, but the nurses are about the ugliest , non-caring people I have ever run into. \r \r This clinic has no people skills what so ever!
