Best Self Serve Pet Wash Bar None 4/2/2009

As someone who is obsessive about the social, emotional, and physical care of my furkids, I have to say there is no comparison between places like Petco and Country Pet Wash. In addition to all the comments below about cleanliness, service and supplies, the design of the facility keeps the groomer and animals in mind.\r \r The bathtubs are ergonomically friendly with narrow rims so that you don't have to reach over a wide tiled rim to bathe your pup, and the tubs aren't too wide so that you have to reach over too far to reposition Fido. The sound level in there is so far and away superior to the loud, echoing tiled places like Petco that feel more like a prison de-licing facility than a place to care for your family members. The walls and dryer systems are designed to minimize noise, which minimizes the stress of an already a stressful experience on the pup. The water pressure is great, unlike Petco; for those that actually want to rinse out potential allergenic soap, dyes, and fragrance more

the only place to wash your dog 12/26/2007

i have been visiting country pet wash since it first opened (over 12 years ago) and have never found another dog wash that is as good. i don't live close by but i find it is well worth the 20 minute drive. the service is amazing - always attentive, they check in with you to see if you need extra towels, and someone will help you lift your dog into the tub if he/she doesn't like to walk up a ramp. country pet wash provides a wide variety of shampoos and grooming supplies, an apron, and extra little towels; the water is always warm; the equipment (spray nozzle, dog dryer, collars) are always working; the tubs are always clean; and there are enough tubs (1 that is even handicap accessible) so i never have to wait. their hours are reasonable, there is ample parking, and i find the price is well worth it so i don't have to wash my dogs at home. cindy, the original owner, recently sold the business and the transition to the new owner has been seamless. what i love about country pet wa more

Great self-serve pet wash 12/20/2007

Clean, orderly, and a choice of shampoos and grooming tools. Other reviewers haven't mentioned what I like best: the broad steps for climbing on to the counter are easy for dogs to navigate. Petco, besides being understaffed and dirty, has narrow ladder rungs leading from the floor to the counter; my large golden can't climb up and needs to be lifted. Petco also typically had half its tubs out of order. At Country pet wash, the equipment is never broken, plumbing is always working, and friendly staff can help you choose the right shampoo. \r Pros: See above; cons; sometimes the owner has teenaged assistants who are less helpful. more

Bow-wowzer! 6/8/2007

What a great place to go and get my puppy clean - light and airy - did I say hairy?? LOL Cindy is so wonderful and helpful and the place is always so clean, a real joy. Lt and I love it. I just can't believe anyone there was rude to someone - they must have called the wrong number perhaps they should let their dogs dial next time - Five wags and a bark to Country Pet Wash\r \r PROs: Yup they sure are\r CONs: Just can't think of any more

Pet Wash Country 3/4/2007

I love this place because I have a large dog and it is perfect to bathe him myself here. All the soaps, conditioners, perfumes, combs, brushes, etc., etc. are all layed for you. The tubs are elevated which makes it easier to bathe the dog and the drying area is elevated too.\r The woman at the front desk is always very nice to everyone. Even my dog jumps right up into the tub!!! Now that's saying something!! more

Country Pet Wash 12/20/2006

This review is in response to Christina V's review. There is NO comparison between Country Pet Wash and Petco. The extra $6 you pay is for quality. The quality is the cleanliness of Country Pet Wash. Country Pet Wash is always spotless. The tubs are always clean, the tools are clean and there is a great selection of shampoos, grooming products, brushes and combs. I have NEVER experienced a rude person at County Pet Wash. That sums up the $6 difference. Country Pet Wash is WELL WORTH IT!!!!. At Petco, I almost always had to wait for an employee to come back to the bathing area, or go hunt someone down for service. If I couldn't find anyone, I would have to find my own towels if there were any to be found, and go to a dirty tub. It was rarely clean at Petco. When I read the review that said when they called and got a person that wouldn't give them a reason for the difference in pricing, they must have gotten the wrong number!!!!! more

Rude, rude, rude 10/21/2006

Country Pet Wash is a self-serve pet wash facility. It also charges $6 more per wash than Petco. We value our dogs (day care daily, trips to Three Dog Bakery weekly, etc.) and have never hesitated to pay more for better service or a higher quality product. I did, however, want to know what I would be paying for, so I called Pet Wash to ask. \r \r The employee (owner?) said in an unnecessarily condescending way "if you want quality, come here. If you want a low price, go there." "Sure," I said, "but what exactly makes it higher quality?" He answered "It's just that people who care about quality come here. If you only care about price, go to Petco." \r \r So I tried another tactic- specific questions like "Are the bathtubs private? Are they more spacious? What kind of shampoo do you have?" He responded that he was too busy to answer.\r \r At last, I gave up and asked for the web address, thinking I would figure it out on my own. He gave me the address for an expired website. Easy way to give your dog a bath 4/26/2006

Country Pet Wash is a great place to take your dog for a bath. They have elevated bathtubs to make it easy for the pet owner to really scrub the animal well. They also provide all the grooming materials you need; shampoo, towels, ear cleaner, perfumes, combs, brushes, etc. All this for just $16. more

The best place around to wash your own dogs! 6/7/2005

I take my two dogs here regularly. The prices are reasonable and there is a selection of shampoos and grooming tools available. It is very clean and the owner is fabulous. The place is very clean. PROS: Great owner, great location in a shopping center, lots of parking. CONS: None more

As clean as you want them to be.... 7/31/2002

Having recently moved to California, I had to find a less expensive option of getting my dogs cleaned without having to go to a groomer that charges over $40 for each dog. The Country Pet Wash was a unique idea that both me and my husband enjoyed. Best part of it was that they cleaned up the shower area after we were done. We have not tried the other self-serve dog washes in the area, but since this is close to our house and service is great, will definitely make use of them again. more
