I will never take another pet here 3/7/2011

Oct 2010, an accident seriously injured my dog & we rushed the closest 24 hr facility. He was seen as soon as I paid $850 for x-rays, blood tests, IVs & meds. The vet said he needed surg & had a 5050 chance. His diaphragm was ruptured, stomach pushed into the chest cavity & leg crushed; he might have a ruptured bladder. The diaphragm surg was about $2000; the leg & bladder were extra. I had limited funds but would pay for the surg if I felt he had a chance. I asked that he be euthanized but the vet said "No", go home & get some sleep. I talked to my vet the next morn. & then called the receptionist, told her I was on my way & wanted my dog euthanized. Before I was out the door, the vet called & said "You have to give him a chance", "I can do this surgery", "He isnt that bad". I reminded him of his 50/50 statement & he said "Well! If it was my dog, I would do it". I Ok?d the surg. & 30 min later, my dog was dead. I didnt have the fortitude to stand up for my dog. The vet got his mone more

My cat ate a piece of lily leaf(toxic). I arrived and the doctor had the entire plan of action listed, the exact cost and a few words about the plan. Two days later my cat was ok. They were Fast and Friendly. The vet lives behind the hospital so he was always available. In fact if you call the emergency extension, that is who answers! more

Worst night ever 3/26/2010

I will never go here ever and if you love your pet you would do the same. \r \r My yellow lab of fourteen years vomited last night and then promptly passed out we rushed him to the nearest hospital witch happened to be this one. I have to say that the service was prompt but less than perfect after a 500 dollar series of tests we were told the following:\r \r 1. My dog has not eaten in four days (never mind the bowl he had for dinner the night before)\r 2. his lung is collapsed\r 3. he has an obstruction but we need to do "exploritory surgery" to be sure?\r \r None of this (except the lack of food which is a lie) explains the vomit and loss of consciousness mind you. \r \r They put a catheter in his paw but made the bandage so tight he was cutting off circulation to his extremities. and I was told that if we only gave up 250 dollars for a ultra sound that they could find out what it was. \r \r Needless to say he did not stay the night and the next morning my wife took him to Dr. Hacket's office more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! 2/7/2009

Vet pulled two teeth from my dog without my permission! I took my dog in to have his teeth cleaned. I got a call that he might have an abscessed tooth and that the doctor needed to take an x-ray to further investigate. I told the vet assistant NOT TO PULL ANY TEETH UNTIL I COULD DISCUSS THE RESULTS! I called the vet back about 15 min. latter about another issue and found out that he had already pulled two teeth!!! I spoke with the vet on the phone who stated that the two front teeth were not abscessed! He stated they were a little loose and that is why he pulled them - they were in his words ?ornamental.? Then I find out that the he did not x-ray the two teeth he pulled!!! I would have taken my dog to another vet for a second opinion if I was given the opportunity, but I wasn?t given that choice! Afterward, when I went to pick-up my dog, the lady at the front counter just handed me medication with no explanation of what to medication was for - nor did she or anyone at that clinic more
