Editorial review from Citysearch 10/22/2013

Worst experience of my life. The owner/manager Joyce is rude and obnoxious. She would not let our guests into the hall and screened people as they were arriving. They were forced to wait outside in a receiving line. The food was served 2 hours late and the last to receive meals were the parents, grandparents and pastor of the bride and groom. The air conditioning was turned so high that the hall was unbearable. Guests were begging for the air conditioning to be turned on. I believe she offended nearly all of our guests at some point in the evening. more

BEWARE!!! 8/8/2012

My husband and I had our reception here (in the pavilion by the pool) in the beginning of August. Every thing was fine until we started dealing with the owners of this place. The person we were originally dealing with was amazing and very accommodating and honest about every thing. If there was some thing that they couldn't do she told us as soon as we asked. There was no misleading us at all. When we scheduled our final 2 meetings we found out that she was no longer there and that we would be meeting with one of the owners (the wife). We thought everything would be fine. And for the first meeting it was. At the end of the meeting we had a list of stuff that we had to find out for them and they had a list of stuff that they needed to find out for us. We scheduled our final meeting (should have been to give final head count and final payment) for the following week. We showed expecting to be in and out. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours! The lady had FORGOT to find more

Great Party 3/29/2012

We had our Fashion Show event on 3.25.12 and the service was impeccable! The Manager, Pam, was so accomodating she went above and beyond. Could not ask for a better coordinator. Everyone had fun and tons of compliments. The decor is beautiful and plenty of room which Pam rearranged to make it more accessible. Staff were there for our every need. Highly recommended. 2 great experiences here! 11/17/2011

My nephew got married & had his reception here last July based on our recommendations from my niece's experience 5 years ago - she still receives compliments on how good the food was, friends have told her it was the best they'd ever had at a wedding reception. The gazebo is a beautiful site for a wedding and the setting is idyllic and is great for pictures. The hall and grounds are beautiful during the day as well at night. The staff was very accomodating & the food was delicious. I recommend this party center to anyone I know that is getting married or planning a reception. more

Highly recommended 10/2/2011

First off, Pam, the lady in charge is absolutely awesome to work with...she was very responsive to my emails. Very helpful. Made this experience a breeze. My husband thanked her so much because of all her help & attentiveness helped keep me from becoming a bridezilla.\r \r The locations is beautiful. We were married at the gazebo outside & the reception was immediately after. The grounds are well kept & beautiful. \r \r The food was awesome...I even asked my guests after the fact & they all raved about the food. We chose herb crusted chicken & roast beef.\r \r Alcohol was included with the price which was what we were looking for..that way we didn't have to worry about not buying enough or having someone bring the alcohol to the reception.\r \r I would tell anyone getting married to check this place out. We were so impressed by everything & would recommend it to anyone getting married. more

Dissatisfied 8/1/2011

My husband and I had our wedding here from the minute I signed our contract it was all down hill from there. Their staff was rude didn't set-up all the things we dropped off for the wedding my bridal party had to finish. They didn't let our guest in for the reception until 6pm mind you it was over 90 degrees out and we had grandparents out in the heat! The price you pay per person is high enough for their service as it is and the food is not that great we had guest sick from the chicken next day as well. So be careful when shopping around and the grounds look better on the internet then they do in person! more

wedding day 10/26/2010

We had our wedding at Country Lakes. I thought the place was very accomodating and the manager was helpful. I would suggest it to anyone, the food was tasty, for not being a five-star resturaunt i thought it was pretty damn good. The staff seemed nice enough and pleasant through the whole wedding process. Our wedding was perfect from the moment I woke to the moment I slept and everyone involved did a very nice job! more

The Happy Bride 10/25/2010

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at Country Lakes on September 5, 2010 and couldn't have been more pleased. We were looking for one-stop shop where we could have the ceremony, the reception, and take pictures. The gazebo by the little lake offered the most scenic atmosphere for our outdoor wedding and the grounds were beautifully landscaped for the pictures afterward. The staff did a magnificent job setting up their smallest reception hall to my specifications, and it was beautiful, which several of my guests commented on. In addition, in the months leading up to the wedding, Pam, the manager, was more than accommodating. She was flexible, responsive, and even offered great suggestions. The day of the wedding she treated me like a queen and was awesome to my guests. Country Lakes made my day exactly what I always dreamed, and my husband felt the same way. I would recommend them to anyone! They're great! more

Do Not Recommend - A Musician's Perspective 10/9/2010

I usually do not take the time to write a review, let alone a negative one, but from playing professionally as a musician for over 25 years, I am writing this review as a caution to any musicians that may play at Country Lakes, and folks that may have their wedding there.\r \r First off, the manager is the owner... She was very rude and demanding, along with the staff, with petty comments and tasks they kept on telling the band, while setting up and throughout the night...\r \r We were the first ones in, as you can expect, to setup the equipment for the wedding reception. The hall smelled terrible... like an old folks home... The setup was terrible from a msuician's perspective.... The wedding was about 400 people, and the dance floor is off to the side. The hall is setp like an L... \r \r The owner/manager inisited the band stop at 11:45pm, since they booked the hall till 12am, so that gives them enough time to get rid of the guests... Also, the onwer/manager had the rent-a-cop (nice more

Best wedding location in Cleveland! 12/20/2009

On July 11, i had my wedding at Country Lakes Party Center. i couldn't have selected a better location! the staff was so wonderful & helpful towards my needs & requests. The manager was so helpful throughout the planning, i hardly had to do anything. Thank you so much Country Lakes! Pros: helpful staff& beatiful location = best wedding imaginable Cons: none! more

Terrible Staff 5/27/2009

When I asked to be removed from their mailing list, I received one of the nastiest e-mails I have ever seen. When I called the party center to bring this to their manager's attention, I was told that the manager was the one that sent the letter, which was riddled with name-calling and condecending language. Pros: - - - - Cons: Manager is "crazy" more

Perfection 11/10/2008

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Country Lakes and couldn't have been more impressed. The staff was great, the food was great and the setting is better than anything you'll find in northeast ohio. I highly recommend this place for any sort of large event. It's fabulous! more
