When you drive through Joshua Tree, this is the kind of country diner/breakfast spot you expect to find in this rustic desert town: down-home, diner food in a eccentric, family-owned greasy spoon. The twist? Ma 'n Pa diner came to this quirky desert town from South East Asia -- and have filled their little restaurant (I think it barely has 6 tables, plus a tiny counter) with all sorts of Americana country tchotkes. Service is friendly, but expect a wait on the weekends, since it's so tiny. Food is unremarkable -- but when dining out at another Denny's just seems too too boring, Country Kitchen is worth a try.
Pros: Quirky decor, friendly service
Cons: Unremarkable food, cramped tables, expect a short wait on weekends
