Country Kennels

My two dogs love Country Kennels. They get excited as soon as they smell the eucalyptus forest, where it is located. They run back to the big, shady pens where they will stay until it gets warm outside and then they go into the large cooled/heated inside area. They also get lots of loving from the staff who really seem to take the time to know my dogs individually. The staff are former vet techs who can analyze my dog's needs and wants. I feel safe and do not worry when my dogs are there. My basset hound loves the long walks that are available, and my dachshund loves the attention that he receives. When I pick them up I always receive a full report of their activities and I can tell by my dog's behavior that they are happy and have been well cared for by all of the staff. I highly recommend Country Kennels to any dog owner. more

As multiple dog family,we have found Country kennels to be clean safe and accommodating For our three dogs and they're very different needs. Our little chihuahua was very shy, but they worked with her now she loves everyone at the kennel.Her behavior is even better with new people at our home. We were not charged for the extra time they spent socializing her. The women who run the kennel truly love animals. They are so good at what they do. I would recommend this kennel to everyone. more

The owner operator is a vet technician at UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and provides excellent levels of care. We have rescued a number of dogs, and some have required special care. When Shaba, our much loved Rhodesian Ridgeback was suffering from cancer and we had an unavoidable trip scheduled, we left her at Country Kennels in their care - they administered the medications as prescribed by veterinarians, they took great care of her and, as much as possible, she thrived. They are specific about their hours and terms - but any business has terms and conditions they abide by, including hours they are open or closed. We are very grateful to Chris and her staff, and would not hesitate to recommend Country Kennels for your companion animals. I used to love this place. They do take great care of your dogs, but the owner is controlling and uncooperative. They have extremely restrictive hours and will not stray from them, not even for a loyal customer that has been going there for 2+ years. I hate to give them a bad review because they have been great to my dogs, but I was 2 minutes late (45 minute drive) and they would not take our dogs, and were quite nasty about it. Needless to say I will NOT return. Pros: Take good care of your dogs... Cons: Extremely restrictive hours equals extra days..equals more $$ more
