I was so happy when I first saw Country Junction, because I thought it was a throwback to an old-fashioned southern breakfast restaurant. It's not. The food is cheap, but skimpy, ...

Comfort Food 2/11/2009

A Carrboro institution, particularly for the local construction and municipal workers. Not fancy, definitely not low-calorie; just tasty foods at great prices. Excellent breakfast selections and prices. Very good burgers for the price - better than going to Wendy's or BK. Lunch specials change by the day and all are quite popular. I particularly like the meatloaf with a side of boiled potatoes and green beans. Their chicken livers and fried okra are very popular as well. Very good hush-puppies. Pros: Good value, quick, accurate service, Good parking Cons: A little crowded sometimes more

Great Value in Carrboro 12/16/2008

This is classic Carrboro- UNC faculty to groundskeepers to fire and police officers. A complete cross section of the triangle. food is only ok but the value/$$ is astronomical. No frills but decent breakfasts less than $3.00/plate- 2 eggs, meat, grits and biscuit. Really nice people. Been going every Saturday morning for more than 10 years. Way better value than the diners like Elmo's. Pros: value/people watching/close to farmers market Cons: Really breakfast only more

Cheapest Eat! 6/3/2004

""$2.29 Breakfast Plate"" advertizes a sign about Country Junction's front window. This ""plate"" includes an enormous pile of food including eggs any style, one breakfast meat, a bread, and a choice of side (grits, etc.). There are also a-la-carte breakfast items for less than a buck. This is quite possibly the best down-home meal deal around! Sure, you get served on styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery. But if you are looking for a bargain and great food, this is your place! You'll also love the classic circular diner windows and interesting unrelated art prints on the walls. Pros: Very inexpensive, Tasty, Fast Cons: , Buy coffee elsewhere more

Disgusting but cheap 5/4/2004

I was so happy when I first saw Country Junction, because I thought it was a throwback to an old-fashioned southern breakfast restaurant. It's not. The food is cheap, but skimpy, greasy, and mostly tasteless. School lunch in public middle school was a big step up. The place is small, and if there is a non-smoking section it dosen't really matter. Service is okay. If you're broke and starving, it's a good place, but I avoid it and I work next door. Pros: Dirt Cheap, Parking Cons: , Truly Icky Food, Really Gross Food more
