Country Cottage Pet Resort

I love my three dogs and am very particular about where I will leave them and with whom!! County Cottage Pet Resort is honestly the best in facilities and people. The villas are new, big, modern, light, and each villa has it own run! Treasure Island is a large area that my Lab loved!!! It has a big sand box and great space for running with other dogs. And best of all there is a swimming pool for the dogs that all my dogs loved. The owners live on the property which make me feel very secure. We are so lucky to have this facility in New Braunfels! more

HI! Just wanted to correct some misinformation from the previous reviewer. Country Cottage Pet Resort is still very much in business (since 1997) and still at the same location!! Patti Fowler, our groomer for the last 7 years has left but has continued to do grooming out of her home off Route 46 West. YES! she still does a fantastic job!! So give her a call at 708-2112 for grooming. At Country Cottage we offer the finest luxury boarding around - call and come by for a tour!! We are still located off of Watson Lane East on Cara Lane. We do offer bathing and nail trims for our ""guests"" but sorry, no hair cuts. Special care for special pets!!!! more

Note to all, this location I am talking about is only for grooming... not boarding. Apparently the 608 Watson business has closed down, so now she works out of her place - for now. Yesterday we took Lizzie to a new groomer (Country Cottage Pets), off Route 46 West (about 6 miles past HEB at 46/337). Patti, did a great job on Lizzie. But one word of warning, looks are deceiving, she works off a dirt road and past a house that could be on ""Hoarding"". Lizzie's hair cut is one of the best that we have had in her 10 years of life with us. The products she used made Lizzie so soft. Almost all groomers have a hard time getting the cut right on Lizzie's ears. This time it was PERFECT. It was slightly tapper and angled towards her jaw line. We highly recommend Patti as a groomer and will take her back... this time with my Tacoma, instead of the Bimmer. :) more

I have boarded with Country Cottage Pets twice before and am about to take my ADHD boxer back to them for Christmas Break. I am never separated from my beloved pooch and on the certain occasions that it must be done I feel very safe about leaving her within their care. She is always happy to get dropped off; maybe its the nice facilities, the patient workers, the intense pet grooming, the other well treated and well mannered dogs, or she just likes taking a vaction like the rest of us! I have recomended Country Cottage Pets to many others and will continue to do so next time somebody asks why my boxer smells like flowers.... Pros: Nice homey atmosphere, great staff. Cons: A bit out of the way. more

Hi! This is in response to the recent negative review. Please don't judge us by this reviewer's comments! We are a bit frazzled right now trying to finish our new state of the art luxury facility - we will be posting lots of photos in the next few weeks online at countrycottagepets. I have always felt a responsiblity to care for our guests personally and am very happy to announce that my cousin Pam, a fellow animal lover, has decided to help me full time. Her added help and organizational skills will be greatly appreciated! Along with my daughter-in-law Brenna (feline caretaker) and our very dear friend Patti, (super groomer!) I anticipate great things here at Country Cottage. Let me emphatically state that we have NEVER taken more pets than we can care for and our facility is cleaned to veterinary standards. We do prefer a ""homey"" and comfortable feeling to an austere & clinical atmosphere. Things do get a little messy when the ""k-9 kids"" are playing - it's all part of having a good time. The recent hurricanes have stretched our limits trying to accomodate people evacuating with their pets but everyone receives quality care and attention. We strive to develop a personal relationship with all our guests and care about their comfort AND feelings. At Country Cottage pets come before people! Please join in the excitement about our new addition ""The Villa"" at Country Cottage and then on to the remodeling of our original kennel which deserves a ""new face"" after 10 years. We will remain a family owned and operated business. Thanks to all our loyal customers for their support over the years. I am only giving us four stars right now - our goal over the next few months is to be a 5 Star Resort!! more

I have been to this kennel several times, the workers are always frazzled, and the place isn't clean. The prices are cheap but they always take more pets in than they have space for! Patti is a good groomer, but that's all I would go there for! Pros: Low prices, country atmosphere Cons: Very messy, too crowded, unorganized more

I feel more like I am leaving my pet with a friend than putting them in a Kennel. My pets go there with tails wagging and when i pick them up they seem even in a better mood!! They also have a great groomer and they now have play groups which i really like. Pros: staff, play groups and groomer in one place Cons: takes a while to get a call back some times-i would email more

Nice place. We feel perfectly comfortable leaving our pups there. The dogs seem happy to go in and happy to come home. more
