I absolutely love this place. The staff is so caring. My dogs are always excited when we pull in. It's a charming, clean, wonderful place, and on top of it all they do rescue work. This place has heart, I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. more

My dog loves this place! Every time I go on vacation my dog is so excited to come to Country Acres. He thinks it's a big party. He always comes back so happy. The staff are very friendly and professional, and you can tell they really care. I feel so good about bringing my dog here. I love that they have a no kill rescue too. more

Just moved to St. Louis this past winter and left behind a kennel that we loved dearly. A friend recommended Country Acres here in town, for I had a trip planned over spring break soon after we moved. I have to say the staff and facility and service they provide far exceeded my expectations and I feel so fortunate to have found my go-to kennel so soon after moving here. They are warm and friendly, the staff clearly has a genuine love of animals. The facility is charming and clean. Both my dog and cat came home happy and content. I cannot ask for more and I absolutely love their location, they have a large piece of land with lots of yards, located across the street from Queeny Park. My dog loved going on daily park hikes. I highly recommend this company! more

My experience with Country Acres goes back over 40 years! When I was a kid, my parents would board our cat Misty, then, in later years, Pebbles. More recently, my wife, children and I adopted 2 cats from Country Acres Rescue. Of course, we bring them to Country Acres when we travel. Our experience has always been top notch! The cats don't complain and my children are comfortable leaving their treasured pets there too. We make it a family trip to drop off and pick up the pets. The staff is always nice and accommodating when we visit. My kids love seeing all the other dogs and cats when we come in. We sometimes pop in just to buy a snack so the proceeds can support Country Acres Rescue. This is an old fashioned kind of business where the owners and staff truly care about their customers and their pets. Always a great experience, thanks! more

I had never boarded my dog before so I was very nervous at first. But the staff at Country Acres quickly made me feel at ease. I was encouraged to take a tour of their facility and I was charmed. The place was clean and smelled good and the dogs seemed happy. They took the time to answer my questions in great detail. I felt like everyone genuinely cared. I left feeling reassured that my dog was going to receive quality care while I was away. This is a great place to leave your pets - I highly recommend Country Acres! more

This place is absolutely wonderful... 11/16/2011

i just moved to St. Louis this past summer and finally decided on Country Acres to board our two golden retrievers. I've used a lot of kennels in the past few years trying to find just the right one and I must say that kennel has been found. This place is utterly charming in every way. It just feels like home. My dogs have always come home from other facilities kind of lethargic or unhappy. But, here they came bounding up the walk. I've never seen them like that at a vet clinic, grooming shop or kennel. the staff is friendly, the facility is clean and they have this wonderful property with yards and trees and a barn. The overall feel of this place is a breath of fresh air. And to top it off they do rescue work with homeless dogs and cats. This place has heart. I HIGHLY encourage anyone to bring their pets here! Pros: null Cons: null more

Rescue? 9/12/2011

I wonder if they are serious about rescuing and finding new homes for animals when they do not do a good job of advertising them and a staff member told me they do not walk them on a leash because they have so much room to roam there. Is the goal to house them long term or to find them a real home? I question asking people to sponsor their rescues financially when they do not appear to be doing all they can to find the animals homes and will not accept help from volunteers. Some of the adult dogs have been there since they were puppies. That is tragic in my book. more

Never again 8/9/2011

We left our dog here while we were gone for 6 days. We thought the kennel looked nice and she would be able to stretch her legs more. After getting her she smelled of pee. She went straight to the groomer. Also all of her toys and even the bag we sent smelled of pee. Furthermore she has now had an accident in her kennel at home since the day we got back. She was housebroken fully before vacation. Nothing was written down or noted if she had issues in the kennel, but clearly her stuff wouldn't smell of pee if she didn't. We will never go back. more

Never going back! 10/21/2010

I took my little dog there for grooming. She needed to be shaved because of some matting. The groomer took more than was necessary - even shaved her little tail and stomach down to the skin. But I could live with that. The horrible thing was that she cut off the tips of both ears. There was dried blood there for weeks. Needless to say the dog was traumatized. more

Country Acres....Be Careful! 8/30/2010

Staff always helpful and friendly. My dog actually gets excited to go, that has not always been the case at other kennels in the area. Have been using them for 4 years and will continue. more

Very Caring Staff 6/30/2008

I have a 10 year old Great Pyrenees that is completely blind. I boarded her for a long weekend for the first time in Saint Louis. Since she is old and blind I worry about her and want her to have special care. The staff was great and took exceptional care of my baby. I also had her groomed there and they did a great job. The facilities are clean and the staff is very caring and truly cares about you and your pet. Pros: Very caring and accommodating staff. Cons: A little pricey but worth it for the piece of mind more

Country Acres Pet Resort 5/20/2008

This place is AWESOME! I love bringing my dog here. It is a sweet family owned kennel. Very clean. Very personal and intimate. I have a good rapport with every employee I have come in contact with. The groomers do beautiful work on my Maltese and can tailor their services to whatever I ask. The prices are very affordable and Country Acres offers a variety of extras and options. I have even taken advantage of their new "playcare" (how cute!) program and my pup loves it! Pros: Variety of options for my dog/clean Cons: n/a more

Not great 5/12/2008

This place charged quite a bit for 3 dogs on a short weekend. Everything is an extra cost except food & water. Even a playtime is an extra charge per dog. My old boarding place (out of town since I moved), would have charged a little less and included playtime, and would have been returned in the shape they arrived. The facilities looked clean (of what I saw), but all of them returned with a foul odor and one even had a tick. I work in the veterinary industry and it was always considered unprofessional to return a dog dirtier and/or smellier than they arrived even if you have to take time and cost to bathe or just rinse them off. The customer service was ok for the most part. Pros: ease of making reservations Cons: cost and my dogs were returned with a bad odor more

Great service, friendly employees 8/7/2002

I used to take my pets here until I moved away from St. Louis. It's a great place. Possibly a little more expensive, but the service and care that your pets receive is definitely worth it! more
