Cotillion Room & Garden @ The Ballet Conservatory

I would not waste time or money on this place again. During my wedding as the groom I had to help prepare the place for the ceremony. All the preparation could of been done ahead of time like they promised. They told us they would sweep the dead leaves up outside and power wash the area. As the groom I did the sweeping and we had to tell them why it was not a good idea to power wash with less than an hour before our wedding was scheduled to start. I also had to help setup the chairs for the ceremony which was suppose to be done by the owners. Luckily friends and family members helped assemble the chair covers which was suppose to be done ahead of time since we were the only event that week. The DJ was the only good part of the cotillion he kept the reception fun and the crowd interested. The photographer ""reflections by joanie"" was recommended to us by the cotillion has not even touched our pictures and it has been over 8 weeks. more

reasonably priced! landscape is beautiful for an outside wedding or if it is raining you can have inside wedding there as well . The price includes dj there is also linens to choose from all colors with out having to rent any she offers her own collection of centrepieces very elegant plenty of beautiful places for pictures with ponds fountains .lighting and outside gazebo is adorable for perfect lone up ! more

This was the perfect place to hold a large gathering. It has a unique beauty both on the outside and on the inside that you won't find anywhere else. The owners are wonderful and gracious people that will work with anything you are wanting to do, whether its decor, music, or food. Will hold many gatherings there in the future! more

I can not wait for our upcoming Fall wedding 2010. The process from day one for any bride to be can be cumbersome. Acting as my own wedding coordinator, I researched a lot of places in KC and surrounding areas, i.e. Independence, Lee's Summit, Greenwood, Blue Springs, to name a few. A well maintained web site gets you to the place yes. But common sense, reality, and relationships built between owners or employees and their customers say so much more. more

I never liked Independence but the photos of this place that were displayed on their website and others were very appealing so I decided to check it out for my wedding and reception. more

I have already booked my wedding and reception with the Cotillion. I am very nervous about it...I have already received conflicting information. I first went in to look at the place and was told that you can bring in your own caterer, photographer, etc. My fiance and I then went back about 3 weeks later and as we are signing the contract they informed us that we had to use their catering service and photographer or there was a fee. The contract I have says NOTHING about a fee, which I will not pay. My friend also booked his/her wedding there and their contact does include a clause regarding the 'up charge' for not using their preferred vendors, and she just booked her 2 weeks after mine. more
