Yea, Costco is the big box warehouse store that many cringe at. I can't imagine life without Costco. While I admit that the selection can be somewhat limited the pros far outweigh the cons. Shop for wine at Costco; this is one of my stock-up sources for wine for everyday dinners and for special occasions. The Bakery: I wouldn't dream of getting a birthday cake from anywhere else. It costs about $15 for a quarter sheet cake. They offer several design and flavor options. Selection is definitely smaller than a specialty bakery, but when you're buying a 1/4 sheet cake, you're not looking for a specialy item. Fresh meat selection and quality are fantastic. The best deal? The $4.99 rotisserie chicken; it's nice to pop in on my way home from work and pick up a piping hot chicken. Mmmmmm! Apples (Red Delicious, Fuji, Gala and more) are a steal, at least 50% cheaper than in supermarkets. Then there's the fun stuff; I love strolling down the aisles for searsonal merchandise and for soft goods. We purchased an electric fireplace from Costco last year for $500 and it is fanstastic; solid wood, easy-to-assemble, beautiful! This location sells Newhall Roasting Company coffee (now also featured at the Subway restaurant chain); nice to see local goods getting attention. And yes, I always browse through books, movies and software. It's a great place to pick up an item or two or shop for the holidays. Checkout lines are decent at this location and I enjoy shopping here much more than I did at the Burbank and Northridge locations. In the same area are 24 Hour Fitness and Jiffy Lube...when I get my oil changed, I walk over to Costco and by the time I'm back my car is done. Talk about multi-tasking! The only downside is that this location doesn't have a gas station...yet. I heard we're getting one though.
Pros: Great Quality, Great Deals, Seasonal Merchandise
Cons: No Gas Station
