I brought my girl scout troop here 3 years ago and they had the best time ever. They went non stop from open til close..... They had so much fun that we are going back this summ...

COSI in Columbus, Ohio 8/16/2006

My husband and I love taking our kids places that are not only fun but do have some educational value to them. Not that we never do anything just for fun...but COSI is a place that both of us went to as children and wanted to share it with them. We are now totally addicted! We bought 2 year memberships! You can go whenever you want for free, you get emails or mail about special members only things going on with the Museum also. You also get 20% off in the gift shop. IF you live anywhere near COSI, we live in Ashland, Ky and drive approx. 3 hours to Columbus, but it is so worth it. When we have school breaks we go, and end up only needing about $150 for gas and food. Then $25 when we get there to get into all the extra spots in the museum. If you can get to COSI and have never been, you need to go! It is an amazing and fun place to take your family! more

Too much for one day! 3/23/2006

We've had a membership at COSI for years. No matter what the kids' ages there is always tons of stuff to do. They can go back in time, go under the sea, play with water, lift a car with leverage, ride a centrifuge, learn about weather, build a kooky creation out of computer parts, and learn and try and experiment. The cafe is pretty eclectic, but expensive, with real food and junk food. The gift shop offers a mix of cheap junk, and some really fun and inventive toys/games. The restrooms are clean, and the staff is terrific. The IMAX movies are usually fascinating, and there is way too much to see and do in only one day! They also offer Girl and Boy Scout adventures, so check it out if you are a troop/den leader. more

Science and More 12/31/2005

The Center of Science and Industry (COSI) is a huge interactive science museum that is fun for all ages. The building is composed of several themed rooms that aim to awe and teach at the same time. Themes including Atlantis and underwater stuff as well as other science like things. Although it is kind of expensive to get in, it is well worth it. I will say it is not as good as the old COSI... probably because they got rid of some of the really cool exhibits like the coal mine etc. But this place is still pretty neat. You should check it out. more

Great for kids! 11/8/2005

COSI (Center of Science & Industry) is a great place to bring the kids on a saturday afternoon!! Although I miss the old building, the new building is so spacious and beautiful. It's spaciousness can almost be perceived as there not being a heck of a lot to see there, but it's not quite that way. I have been in museums that you can spend a lot longer in, though. Where else can you go to see rats play basketball?? more

There is something for everyone. While having fun you are also learning. There is a kids section for the under 6 group. The kids area is great and safe. The kids can wear themselves out in a sfe learning environment while having a great time. more

Good for a first timer 9/17/2005

Only been there once and I probably will go one more time when are kids are old enough. There is so much potential unused at COSI that I really am hoping this will get better. Overall though it was a fun day and is definetely more for families than couples. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think! more

great place for kids 9/15/2005

COSI is a really neat place to take kids. Unfortunately they don't have the funding that they need so they did shut down some things and have shortened hours. I used to go here when I was in school, before it moved to this location, and I think that it lost a lot of the educational things that they used to have. It is still though a great time for kids, but I think it's a little more entertainment than educational. more

a very interesting place that is a must if you have kids in elementary school. a great learning experience that kids dont mind as everything is done in a fun atmosphere. exspensive admission but teachers get in free and they do offer yearly memberships. I enjoy taking people here from out of town becuase it does tend to be different from the other science based museums that are scattered throughout the country and kids and adults seem to enjoy something in the place at all times despite what the current exhibit might be. more

Lots of fun! 8/21/2005

COSI is a great place to take people of all ages. The exhibits have something for everyone. It's always a fun place for kids to go on a field trip, but I've found that I even enjoy going as an adult. Since moving to the new location on West Broad St., COSI has going through some growing pains. They've raised prices, and started seperating admission (i.e. charging admission multiple times depending on the exhibits you want to see). In my opinion, the move has not been a positive change for COSI. While it is still a great place to visit, I do not go as often. more

My kids love this place! 8/20/2005

I have to say, that as an adult, I much prefered Cosi, before they moved to their new location. However, this one is just as good in my books. And the new Titanic exhibit is just awsome! My kids enjoy the exhibits, and aatractions, and they think they are so col when they can lift that big car all by themselves. The ticket prices and kind of high, but well worth it for a day of fun. I also enjoy the Big movie screen that is inside, however that does cost extra! more

Great place for kids, not too bad for adults 8/17/2005

We have a family membership and it is well worth it. I was pretty bummed when the levy failed, it would have been nice if all of Franklin county could go to COSI on a regular basis. Its really cool to see the looks on kids faces when they're learning something new and you see that on a regular basis at COSI. Whenever our nephews and nieces visit we go and they love it. We have a pretty young child who enjoys it as well so you don't have to worry about entertaining smaller kids. It doesn't really compare to science museums I've been to in other cities that have more of an adult component as well, but its great for kids. more

Cosi is perfect for kids and adults alike. They have wonderful exhibits that are both fun and educational. Cosi can provide hours of fun to small children, teens, and parents. Their exhibits are always changing so it gives great revisit value. Who knew science could be soooo much fun? Highly recommended. more

COSI -- good, but it's been better 8/6/2005

The new location of COSI is great -- parking is easy and relatively inexpensive. The new building is shiny and new. The tickets are very expensive! I recently went to the Titanic Exhibit with my parents, husband, and brother/brother's girlfriend. My brother, the girlfriend, and I are all in our mid/late twenties, while my husband is in his early 30's. The line to get a ticket was horrendously long. We stood in line for 40 minutes as the line was multi-purpose; you could buy season tickets, as well as different types of tickets. I was appalled at all of the small children running around and leaning on the Titanic's glass exhibition cases (and setting of the alarms!). The children were pushing, yelling, and stepping on other patrons. It was very uncomfortable for us -- and we're used to being around children (large families). There didn't seem to be enough staff, and there were several exhibition rooms that were empty. I know that COSI has been plagued with money problems...but we'd be willing to pay more for an "over 18 only" night. I really miss the "old" COSI building -- even though it might not have been so fancy -- it was comfortable, exciting, and bursting with energy. I miss the Coal Mining exhibit! more

COSI Columbus 8/5/2005

The Center of Science and Industry in Columbus, Ohio, was one of my favorite places to visit when I was a kid. With fun science exhibitions, historical recreations, and a lot of hands-on activities, it was always full of surprises and fun. They did a good job at making it accessible and non-intimidating, even for shy kids. I especially enjoyed the space exhibits, and the theatre showing old Little Rascals shorts. The new location on the river is beautiful and more contemporary in design. The parking is more convenient, too. Their event services department is very helpful in setting up corporate events, too. I have had pleasant experiences with both event services and the catering team. www.cosi.org more

For the whole family 8/4/2005

This is a great place for all ages of kids and even adults will find something to enjoy. Some of the exhibits stay the same, but they always add new exhibits each year. It is a great place for kids (and adults!) to learn something new about science. I haven't yet taken my one year old, but have heard from friends that even a child this young will enjoy it. more

One of the most fun and unique places in town! 7/12/2005

COSI is one of my favorite places to go because there is so much to do! Granted, I work in the sciences, but you can get even the most lackluster kid to have fun in this place! Science and exploration is the key in the new building that COSI now inhabits, and doing it in a fun and innovative way will get your kids learning in no time! Fun for adults, too - with the Extreme Screen, rotating displays (a recreation of the Titanic right now) and the Simulator makes it a fun environment for everyone. If you want to learn something new, and have tons of fun doing it, this is the place to go! more

Awesome. Really. 6/24/2005

This is the old location of COSI which recently moved further downtown on the riverfront. If you are looking for the funnest place to take your kids, this is it. Learning abounds in the new space, with hands-on exhibits, rides, experiments, and FUN. COSI has an amazing volunteer program, so if you have a teen who is sitting around the house over the summer, make sure to get info and have them check it out. I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is! more
