Nice Boat. Staff was OK. Food Terrible!!

NOT AS ADVERTISED AND LOUSY FOOD 8/16/2010

Their website said cruise destination NYC. but all we did is go out into the NJ bay and then sit still as we ate our dinner. Then we came back. It wasnt even a cruise let alone a cruise to NYC as their website had said. I called up to complain and they said it was a mistake on their website! and that they were changing it! Sure enough the same day their site no longer said destination NYC. I already knew that the food was no better than a microwave dinner but for the view of the city and the fun of being on the boat I thought it was worth it.. BUT no views of anything just darkness and the Raritan Bay. They said they would get back to me about what they could do for me. I disputed it with my credit card company and now 46 days later they have rebilled me for the full amount without ever calling me. Now I am sharing my experience with everyone. You are much better off going to the city or to hoboken and taking a different dinner cruise!\r \r I would like to suit because they changed thei more

mothers day brunch at the cornucopia 5/9/2010

I bought tickets for four people was charged a wrong amount so the clerk asked me to pay the difference in price about an hour after I had left the ticket office. She made the error and didn't acknowledge nor did she say thank you and sorry for the error. So we went for the mothers day brunch and froze for about 20 minutes in line outiside because the staff was so unorganized. Our table was on the third floor and it seemed like we were at a wake no music no entertainment. We were told by another guest that the music was downstairs on the first and second floor I wish I would've known that cause the reason why I paid $200 something dollars was to have a good time, not to sit on the top floor bored. Food was great service sucked we waited 35 minutes for water after requesting for another setting cause our table was set for three and not four persons we boarded around 11:35 and at 12:47 we got another spoon and fork at around 1:30 we finally got out napkin. Horrible b athrooms smelly as e more

Very disappointing experience in Hoboken 3/9/2010

My company's dinner cruise was on 3/6/10 on the Cornucopia Princess (out of Hoboken). The deal we had was to be able to self-park for FREE on a ""reserved"" parking level at Little Man Parking on 12th St. I arrived approx 5:40pm (cruise boarding time was between 6 and 7pm) and there were hardly any parking spaces left. My unfortunate co-workers had to get valet parked and then get their receipts validated on the ship. Luckily I found a parking space but then I could not easily locate the elevator (reserved parking area was on Level 4). The weather was good so the walk to the ship was bearable although the cement pier's condition is not the best. Boarding the gangplank onto the ship was a bit on the ""dangerous"" side -- there was a medium upward incline to the ramp which ended in a HUGE step DOWN onto the ship's floor. Anyone who is ""vertically challenged"" or elderly will have major issues here. If there was rain, I could see slipping being an issue too. Luckily for me, I'm tall, so the step down was no problem but it felt uncomfortable. My first stop was the ladies room. It was of ample size (very large, in fact) but 1 paper towel dispenser was jammed and the other one was empty. I informed the nearest crew member (who was male) and he was nice enough to stop what he was doing to track down the maitre d. I then told the maitre d and he thanked me. Later in the evening I used the ladies room on the 3rd floor (Sun Deck). There was no soap in any of the dispensers and a good amt of water on the floor under one of the sinks!! I don't know where the maitre d was hiding out, but I didn't see him for the rest of the evening. Cocktail hour was during the 1st hour on the ship. It was on the 3rd level (Sun Deck). We were told the elevator was broken so we all had to walk up 3 flights of stairs. A real workout! There was a lot of floor space so crowding wasn't an issue, but there weren't enough tables and chairs so holding your little plate and your beverage and eating the hors d'oevres was a bit of a challenge. Dinner service was good. Servers were very energetic and attentive. Food (surf & turf) was okay, but I did hear from my co-workers that degree of cooking varied tremendously. I didn't have a problem with my food, but some others were not so lucky. Seating was scattered between levels 1 and 2. We had alot of no-shows so I thought this spread the group out too much. The on deck views were pretty awesome, but no announcements were made to let us know when we were passing significant landmarks. When you're at your dinner table, it almost feels like there are no windows in the room (although there are, but the tables are not close to them). Returning back to the pier was a BIG STEP UP and then a slow walk down the metal gangplank. Those who had to valet park had a big wait for their cars. Fortunately I was able to get my car pretty quickly, so I was on my way in only a few minutes. Pros: Servers were attentive, Dessert was good Cons: DISGUSTING bathrooms, Broken elevator, Decor needs updating more

Great time 3/6/2010

We have just celebrate my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Destiny. We could not have asked for a nicer day, the food was very good, the crew was very courteous and the ship manager Joe was flawless. This was a very important party for my family and from the time of booking everyone was very professional. We had a perfect time and we were able to give my Mom and Dad an unforgettable day. Joe had ensured that I got everything I wanted and make us feel very comfortable. The ship traveled at perfect speed and we had a lot of fun. Thank you for giving us a unique and very special day. Pros: Excellent food, perfect day Cons: No negatives more

Cornucopia Cruise Line is Top Shelf 9/24/2009

I held my daughter's wedding reception on the Princess. Excellent service, food, and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Cornucopia Cruises to anyone interested in a first class experience. The scenery was breathtaking, the food excellent and abundant, the bar drinks kept flowing. Make sure you dock in Hoboken. Perth Amboy is ugly. more

4th of July 2009 7/6/2009

Don’t be in a rush to get there at 5:30, line is long and moves slow. Everybody has assigned tables so you get your table if your 1st or last to board.\r We boarded the Majesty with about 400 people it was crowded. Luckily we had a table away from the buffet line or you would have people butting up against your table during the dinner.\r The appetizers were just ok, that is if you were lucky enough to get ones of the 1st trays of serving after that it was all mini hotdogs and stuff from Sams . I rate the appetizers a 1\r The drinks were good name brand liquors and Heineken, no frozen drinks and long lines at the bar. I rate drinks a 3\r The music was good. a DJ although the dance floor was very , very small and the buffet line down stairs ran right though the dance floor. I rate DJ a 4 and the dance floor 1 \r \r The dinner “Sucked” . They ran out of beef and gravy half way through the dinner line. They ran out of chicken except for cold buffalo wings, you had to wait for them to bring in new ½ trays of cold food. I could go on and on about dinner but it didn’t even rate a 1\r \r Next the cruise to the Hudson from Perth Amboy....LOL..unless you like the smell of oil and pertolium . It was horrible view until you reach the NY skyline then the view was spectacular. About a 45 minute ride to get to NY.\r I rate the view a 2\r \r The firework display we went to view was probably very good except we were way to far away to see them The boat should have gotten closer. We could have driven a car closer from the Jersey side and have seen them better. I would definitely not recommend going on the boat just to see the fireworks, it will only be another disappointment and you don’t want to go for the appetizers and dinner or the view. How about desert...NOT..we sat toward the front of the boat and they start serving coffee from the back. It took over 30 minutes just to get a cup of coffee to have with my desert.\r \r Oh.... and another thing the bathroom upstairs..DISGUSTING...piss filled to the top of the bowl in the mens room, my wife decided to hold it for the 5 hr trip.\r \r The whole experience I would rate a 1, barely.\r I would not recommend anybody take the 4th of July cruise. Pros: Easy to get to boat location.good DJ Cons: Food sucked, bathrooms disgusting, not close to fireworks more

Good Food 4/6/2009

The food is really good on these cruises. Sometimes there is not enough staff on the boat and you have to wait a while to get a drink. The boat is beautiful and has a nice layout. more

Awesome Crusie Line 12/16/2008

I recently had my wedding at the Cornucopia Cruise Line.I would like to say from begining to end was a wonderful expierence. My party planner was excellent she met all my needs and made sure everything was intact. As for the food it was awesome there was so much food and tasty. The desert was to die for. The server were very attentive. Our guess enjoy every minute of the cruise when we dock they were sad did not want to get off they are still talking about our wedding at the cruise line people we did not invite has commented on how the guess had a great time. You must expierence it yourself to know what I am talking about. If I had to plan another event I would not hesitate to do it at the Cornucopia. My husband And I are planning after the holiday taking a dinner cruise with them. I highly recommend the Cornucopia Cruise Line. Pros: plenty of parking more

Fabulous 11/30/2008

From the moment we boarded the Cornucopia Princess, we were treated like royalty. The entire night was fabulous...Great food, entertainment, service, etc. Who could ask for more? I'd recommend this Dinner Cruise Line without hesitation. Pros: Food, service, music Cons: the night ended more

Thanksgiving dinner almost like mom's. 11/28/2008

\r If you choose to eat Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant, Cornucopia Cruise Line is the place to be. They served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner buffet style with unusual flair. Besides a delicious meal, we were able to enjoy a relaxing cruise and good November weather. Try the dark side of the moon chocolate cake. more

CORNUCOPIA CRUISE WORSE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/10/2008

I just had a 30th birthday party for my husband yesterday and could not wait to get on here and review the below poor dining experience we had aboard the Cornucopia Cruise Line in Perth Amboy. The list is ENDLESS, but I have to share this with you all because I would NEVER EVER recommend this cruise to anyone. I WOULD RATHER STARVE. So here goes............we boarded the cruise line and about no more than 5 min that I stepped aboard the boat, the NASTY, RUDE hostess tells me I have an outstanding balance on my bill and is speaking to me like I'm going to jump overboard and not pay. Then she proceeds to tell me that the long table in the back will not fit 14 of us so we had to take 3 smaller tables in the front. Needless to say, I later notice there are 13 or 14 people sitting at that table anyway. The linens were faded, the glasses were filthy ... it was a disaster already. They start calling tables to go up for food but as more time went on, it was clear they were NEVER calling OUR tables. Finally my brother told me we better start going up to eat only to realize there were mere scraps left. OF COURSE, BITCHY HOSTESS WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN. Ok, by this time, I bet you're thinking, well it's a good thing you had some alcohol to keep you busy. WRONG...THINK AGAIN!!! They were so short staffed, the waitresses never came and once again, my brother had to get up and speak to them and insist they bring our drinks immediately (they later told us they couldn't handle the volume and everyone ends up quitting). The hostess FINALLY came over and bought us a round of drinks (which, you guessed it, we had to go up and get ourselves). I will NEVER recommend this cruise to anyone. Save your money and go someplace else. Trust me, this was an expensive lesson to learn. In the end, I invited my family over after the disastrous boat experience and we had a good old fashioned barbeque. Oh and last but not least, they never brought the coffee or dessert either. more

Cornucopia Cruise Line - SAVE YOUR $$$ Go ELSEWHERE 7/15/2008

If it wasn't for the great company of my coworkers, I can only describe it as a horrible trip on the Majestic with Cornucopia Cruise Line on July 4th 2008. I HAD to choose a 1 star rating...less than 0 is what they deserve. My heart goes out to Ed for his retirement party. My disappointment list below:\r -Was suppose to be on the smaller better ""Princess"", not the \r ""Majestic""\r -Was suppose to sail from Perth Amboy to NY... they drove \r us to Hoboken by bus.\r -Only 2 bar tenders on each level; therefore a 30min wait for \r drinks and choice was limited.\r -Ran out of Hordorves which was fine cause they? well?\r sucked.\r -The waiters seemed inexperienced.\r -Extremely nasty bathrooms...need I say more.\r -Dirty windows...we were there to SEE fireworks.\r -Dinner serve 5 mins before fireworks, so it was cold when \r we ate. Choice...fireworks or hot food.\r -Staff did not prevent inconsiderate folks from blocking view of \r fireworks with umbrellas (MISTY night)...guess hot food \r would have been a better choice.\r -Was not even a cruise?it was a rowboat distance?park at\r barge?watch show? turn around?done.\r SAVE YOUR $$$ Go ELSEWHERE Pros: Being on the water around NY Cons: Too many to say more

Run A Ground! 6/24/2008

The Cruise was awful. Poor service, starting with ""Barbara"" the cruise director. She was rude, mean, and unhelpful. The ship didn't start cruising for an hour until the late DJ was aboard. DJ was not late, he was called at the last minute to replace schedule DJ. The ship didn't cruise anywhere near NYC because how late we left. There were only three servers for 223 passengers. The soda equipment was broken through most of dinner service. New owners have taken only two years to run this ship a ground! Cons: Late, Poor Service, Over All Bad Experience more
