Cornette Property Management

Ok...I know that with reviews there is good and bad and you think to yourself ""How much should I believe?"" PLEASE believe this one!!! I rented from them for over 3 years. The property manager was great but the maintenance woman was horrid and rude. In fact when I recently moved out, they charged me with stuff that they were supposed to fix! I am so disappointed and hurt because I took care of that house like it was my own. I had left a patio loveseat and basketball hoop there thinking another family would like it. Well I shouldn't have done it because not only did they charge me to ""Haul it"" they kept it there. What liars!!! I painted the kitchen and they took another 600 dollars stating they had to repaint it. They kept the paint and lied. I am disgusted by there false documentation. They are not on the renters side at all. They are in it to win it and will lie to keep your deposit in order for the owner to make mortgage. That's what I believe. I originally chose to leave Cornette because I found a much cheaper and nicer property management to trust so this was not so surprising that this happened. Please do not trust them and take my advise. PLEASE!!!!!! more

Horrible!! Inept, lack of communication, bad business practices. Any investor using these people for property management will be sorry. They have been lazy, unresponsive, and downright rude. How they have managed to stay in business so long is beyond me. I have read over 50 reviews on the Internet about them ripping off tenants and property managers alike and have personally dealt with them on several occasions now. Do your research before hiring or renting through this company! more

They are terrible on communication, repairs, courtesy (except the secretary), returning calls, or anything else other than collecting their money! Google them more people- everyone hates that they signed leases with this company- they don't manage anything.. they shouldn't be called a management company. They drag little or big issues out over weeks, to months! Get use to taking time off of work a lot & sitting in the office waiting for your turn to complain... if you work with Cornette. Everyone else does, evident any time you are at their office for yet another ""didn't you tell me that last week!"". more

We have been renting our home in Fair Oaks for almost 3 years and Cornette Management has been a very good company to work with. I would recommend them to other tenants looking for a home. more

Won't even talk to you about rentals until they receive a $50 application fee, and then they tell you their properties are rented once they receive it. All this company does is hustle. Try to find a more credible rental agency in the Sac area more

Over a year ago I was looking at 2 different rental homes and ended up renting a house from Cornett. They have been great, I wasn't sure if I would be accepted since I lost my home to a foreclosure but I was and that was a huge relief in my life. So far nothing major has broken and the only repair I can remember was to the sprinklers. I usually go into the office to get a receipt for my rent and I really think Tami and Nicole are fantastic. If your looking for a company that will treat you with respect I would recommend Cornett. more

After contacting Cornett about a property I was interested in, I was instructed to leave my name and number and an agent would get back to me. Well over a week later and 6 messages left for an ""agent"", I was told that they had accepted an application TODAY and are awaiting approval. I am left with disappointment and confusion simply for the fact that I would have turned in an application well over a week ago if only given the opportunity. I will continue my search for a rental and will be avoiding this management company. more

It's been almost 3 years since I first put my fourplex under management with them and the change has been wonderful. When I first purchased this property it was fully occupied but after closing I discovered only one tenant was caught up on rent and the other 3 were all over one month behind. After 6 months of trying to manage this situation myself I hired Cornette to take over and they have done a fantastic job!!! We had to end up evicting 2 of the tenants but since then and having found some wonderful tenants I have had a full house and only 1 vacancy that was filled within a month. more

I was hesitant to use a management company to take care of my 3 rentals after doing it for almost 7 years myself. But I was transferred to Seattle and after my brother said he wouldn't do it I contacted about 5 companies and finally chose Cornette. Well all I can say is that they have been fantastic. I would and have recommended them to friends and I'm very happy to know that my properties are well cared for and taken care of even though I am so far away. I wish them great success and hope they keep my properties going as well as in the past. more

WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THIS COMPANY IS GREAT!!!!! I Have rented from them for almost 3 years and finally bought a house, I did my move out with Judy and ended up getting all of my deposit back. This is the first time that has ever happened for me so I just thought I would SHOUT OUT TO THE WORLD that this company is honest and trustworthy. I'm still in shock that I got it all and this will help me alot and I want to thank Shannon, Roger and Ruth for all your help - good luck in the future and hope this helps you get more tenants. more

A Roommate and me rented a duplex off La Riviera Dr when we were in college and they dinged us abit for cleaning and a few repairs which is probably normal, but 2 years ago I moved into a house in Fair Oaks that they manage and things have been fine. I fix alot of the little things myself but have have probably 2 or 3 items that I couldn't take care of and they fixed them without any problems. more

I bought a rental home in the Sacramento area almost 10 years ago and living in San Jose I had to hire a management company to manage the home. The first company was actually a real estate agent who seemed to not know what she was doing and only lasted about 8 months before she let us know that she was selling all of her accounts to another company. I went thru 2 other management companies with not terrific results until I hired Cornette in 2007. more

We have used Cornette Property Management to manage our Sacramento area home for the past 2 years. As owners, we have been very frustrated with their lack of communication and total lack of knowledge about our individual property. That being said, we were putting up with them. Recently, however, we had reason to contact our current tenets for the first time and the first thing out of their mouths was how unhappy they were with Cornette. They said that they were extremely hard to get ahold of and poorly responsive to any complaints. Not only that, but we also found out that we were charged for repairs, cleaning, and painting that appear to never have been done and charged for things that should have come out of the damage deposit of the previous tenets! We are very angry and feel swindled. When I called to cancel our management with them, they gave us the run around for a couple days. This is a terrible company and we deeply regret having ever used them and for putting our poor tenets through this nightmare! more

The past two years have been painless as a renter thanks to CPM. We moved from Houston to Sacramento and wasn't sure what to expect but the City and renting from Cornette has been a wonderful experience, after being homeowner for 15 years we were not sure how renting would be, but my wife and I have been extremely pleased with this company. I'm sad that we have to leave our friends and move back to Texas but glad that I have this opportunity to recommend this company to other potential renters. more

Horribly managed company. Repairs will never get done. No one will take accountability. Gloria F doesn't know the definition of customer service. The company has a distinct lack of human emotion. I will get repeated calls about a child's toy on the patio, but no call for repair of a broken drawer with nails hanging from it in a house with small children. Ridiculously incompetent company completely void of the general component's required to keep a tenant happy. I will NEVER do business with this company again.? more

It has been over 3 years since I bought my first rental property and at first I thought I would find a tenant and manage the property myself, but after hearing some horror stories from friends with rentals I decided to hire a management company. I made contact with 3 or 4 companies but decided on hiring Cornette and I have been completely satisfied with the experience. My second tenant just moved into the property and If they are as good a tenant as the first couple then I am sure I will continue to have good things to say about this company. more

I have used Cornette Property Management to manage my east sacramento house for over a year. While I have had generally positive experiences working with employee Shannon J., I have had very poor experiences trying to work and communicate with Gloria F. and Judy Cornette. My most recent failed interaction with the company prompts this review. The unresolved issue: although Cornette Property Management has, over the past year, utilized my home warranty on three separate occasions for the purpose of obtaining repairs, on the most recent occasion that repairs were required, employee Gloria F. failed to contact my home warranty company, and has instead billed me for the now much greater repair costs. It was clear from my first conversation with Gloria that she was aware that she had made a mistake (she hung up on me when I asked her if she had contacted my home warranty, and then failed to call me back). Since my initial unpleasant interactions with Gloria, the company has proceeded to stonewall me in my attempts to resolve the situation. I have now emailed and called the Cornette Property Management Company on thirteen separate occasions over the past two months in an attempt to reach Judy Cornette to discuss the situation. I have never received a call back from Judy or Roger Cornette, who nonetheless automatically deducted the increased repair money from my rent check. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and now fear I will have to take them to court. I would not recommend this company. more
