Best

You can't find a better pool. The water is amazing--the cleanest and purest I've ever found, and I've swam in pools all over the world. And the variety of programs is unbelievable...

Worst

The best part is lots of lanes and availability, depending on time of day. Lifeguards walk around the pool, many with their heads in the clouds, talk to each other, sometimes not...

Not Great 3/31/2017

The best part is lots of lanes and availability, depending on time of day. Lifeguards walk around the pool, many with their heads in the clouds, talk to each other, sometimes not really attentive to all pool lanes and never attentive to the whirlpool. The lockers / showers are 1970s vintage, lack overall shelf space, soap not always available, no paper towels, unsure about sanitary condition, frequency of professional cleaning, pee always on floors by urinals. The "gym" has a 1980s feel and it's usually freezing in there. Cable channels on gym tv's limited to a few lousy ones. Apart from most members, it is true an overall not user friendly place more

Sub-par Facility/ Rude 6/19/2011

After reading some of the reviews about Cornerstone and being a member, it is obvious to see which ones were written by locals and which ones were written by Cornerstone (the prose [writing style] of those reviews is quite similar to the prose of their website, hmmm...) Anyway, after reading the reviews I have too realized that its time to leave the dated and crowded Cornerstone, I too am considering the Jewish Community Center on Simsbury Rd-my friend Shalva tells me there's never a wait at the pool there and that she doesn't have to wear goggles ALL the time; at cornerstone the pool is extremely chemicalized and removing your water glasses once will make your eyes red all day. Hope this helps. more

HORRID 1/12/2011

Agree with other 1 star rating. I can't believe these people, my 1 year membership just expired and I can say my new (yet slightly more expensive) JCC membership is the BEST thing I've done since leaving cornerstone. Their website claims to have some "advanced water treatment" equipment, I can tell you from being there that that's 100% BS! The pool is far over chlorinated and I mainly stopped using their facility because my skin was becoming so dry (mainly in my neck area) I had to see a dermo, it was uncomfortable for me to lay in bed with clothes on, or sit back in my chair at work. Save your time and money- the front desk staff is horrible: their rude and think that they're more important than you. I can say that the manager was always present, but he doesn't do much more than boss around his staff and the MEMBERS! My complaints of lifeguards not being attentive when watching the patrons and a DISGUSTING LOCKER ROOM constantly were ignored. I'm pretty sure the person calling Cornerstone "Phenomenal" is the manager, because the prose matches the website: and ask any member, you'll be lucky if it takes more than 30 seconds to check in, the "important tasks" the front desk staff have to do on the computer are far more important than you, and OPEN LANES??? HAHAHAHA THATS FUNNY! I never thought to mention it until I saw that, at most times you'll have to wait at least 10-20 for an open spot in a lane, but most members grow accustom to that. If you're looking for constant open lanes, check out the O'Connel Center @ St. Joesph's College. more

Amazing! 8/26/2009

You can't find a better pool. The water is amazing--the cleanest and purest I've ever found, and I've swam in pools all over the world. And the variety of programs is unbelievable--have you heard of aqua-spinning, on underwater bikes? It's an incredible workout, and so far I've only seen it at Cornerstone. The place is incredibly clean, from the locker rooms to the decks to the crystal-clear water. more

Swimming anyone 9/28/2005

Whether you are looking for a place for your aquatic therapy, a gym, or a place to swim... Cornerstone is a great aquatics center. There are two large pools, one that has a very shallow section perfect for children. They have varying temperatures, which work well for those who need warmer temperatures. There is also a large and very hot whirlpool. The showers/locker rooms are large and clean. There is also a shop if you need swimming accessories (caps, goggles, etc). more
