This practice is large and the physicians span the spectrum of sub-specializations as well as general internal medicine (primary care). The emphasis, though, is on primary care and the individual patient. The attending physicians at CIMA are all full-time faculty at Weill Cornell Medical School/NY Presbyterian. If you see one of the Attendings, you do so through your insurance (or, out of pocket); but there is also a teaching clinic attached to the practice (with residents in internal medicine).
All this probably sounds huge (it is) and impersonal (it ISN’T (. I’ve had excellent experience here -- as friendly and personable as my prior internist’s (small, two-man office). The practice as a whole makes patients feel valued. And, if the need arises, by virtue of the Attending physicians' status at Weill Cornell, if you need a referral for more specialized care/procedures, you are assured that the options you are given are cutting-edge (no pun intended!) The physicians are warm and knowledgeable; I’d especially recommend Dr. Kamiar Khajavi, Dr. Lisa Kern, Dr. Robert Meyer (Director of the Practice). The only one I’d avoid if possible is Pelzman (your typical NYC doctor, attitude and all).
