I stayed at the Coral Reef in July 2006. It is under the new management of Bruce and Frank, who bought the hotel in June. They are very nice hosts, attentive to your needs, but not intrusive. With eight rooms, the guest house is intimate and friendly. It's located on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood, but just half a mile from Sunrise Blvd and the big Galleria shopping mall. There are restaurants, stores, food shops, ATMs, and liquor stores within easy walking distance. The beach is about a mile and a quarter. \r

The hotel is scrupulously clean. Rooms have refigerator, microwave, and TV. There is a small movie library for guests. I found the bed very comfortable, the air conditioning quite adequate during the heat of July, and the towels ample and thick. \r

They serve the best breakfast of any guest house I've stayed at in Ft Lauderdale. Everything is fresh, and the choices include healthful options. There are high quality juices and bottled water on hand at all times. A welcome amenity when lying by the pool in the sun. \r

The pool gets sun all day, and there are islands of shade under trees or unbrellas when you need a break from the rays. Clothing optional sun bathing is an option for those interested in an all-over tan. The pool is pleasantly heated, and great for a swim, or floating on a raft in the sun. There is a hot tub, as well, which is delightful at night, looking up at the stars. \r
