Extremely comforable 12/6/2010

I originally planned on staying over night but ended up adding two more. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comforable and the view from my room was breathetaking. The bathroom had a huge over-sized tub and nice tile work all around. This is one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. more

traffic was light and quiet 10/7/2010

I checked in to a one bed non-smoking room on the ground floor. The room was clean and it had a very nice recliner in it. As it was at the end of the main street, traffic was light and it was quiet. The internet signal was strong and I got a lot of work done the next day. more

Outstanding 9/28/2010

Everything was extremely clean, and the portions of the re-model that were complete were outstanding. Had stayed at the Copper King shortly before it closed a few years ago, and even with the dated hotel rooms, it was miles ahead of what it was. The staff is OUTSTANDING, willing to help with any and all requests. The breakfast area and food were great. more

Extensively refurbished 9/24/2010

The hotel was closed in 2008 and extensively refurbished before reopenning recently. Now it is a spotless and well maintained hotel, with working WiFi, pool, lounge, and restaurants. It is right across the street from the airport, but I didn?t hear any planes land when I was there. It is located on the south edge of town. The staff is hard working and responsive. The hotel is rapidly recovering its business. I highly recommend it! more

a great stay 8/30/2010

It's great to have the Copper King back in town. With its large bar area, live local band (out of ear shot of the rooms), a pair of well-lit pool tables, and friendly staff, what more could you want. Well, how about you throw in a spacious lobby, convention space and a newly opened steak house serving excellent upscale meals. Then there's the indoor waterslide in the pool area, sorry I didn't have time to try it. Even a big comfy recliner chair in my room. A great stay. more

well maintained 8/19/2010

What a great experience. We had never been to Butte; went on a whim. Saw the Copper King Mansion listing in a travel guide; the total cost of $65 for bed & breakfast for 2 was much less than cost of a cheap motel and cheap restaurant. The Mansion is incredibly interesting, with gorgeous hand carved woodwork, ceiling frescoes, and filled to the brim with an incredible variety of antique furnishings, paintings, decorations, china, and even a giant organ in the attic. The building isn't in perfect condition, and the outside needs a little maintenance, so don't be discouraged when you arrive. After being inside, we would have gladly paid MUCH more to stay there. The current owners' mother bought the place long ago after it hadn't been maintained well, but she refurbished it and scoured the country for the antiques. Current owner was friendly and willing to talk as much as we wanted, but respected our privacy and time. Tour of the mansion included in B&B cost. Stay in the suite--huge rooms and huge private bath, and breakfast, and tour, all for only $95-- well worth it. It's only a block off the main street of Butte, which was also fascinating. I've seen lots of mining towns, but Butte is different; it was a huge city of over 100,000 with an incredibly international population. I would love to go again. more
