Worth the Trip (if you're in the area) 1/15/2011

We visited the Coors Brewery 1-15-11, on the last day of a week stay in Winter Park. Admission is free and it's only about 35-40mins from the airport. We appreciated the self guided tour instead of having to wait for the inevitable 20 questions at each station. (there's always one in every group:) We were able to stroll along at our own pace, and if something wasn't catching our interest completely, we were able to move on. There were employees sitting at tables in different areas along the route but not one greeted us or asked if anyone had any questions. I'm still unclear as to their purpose. The plant was empty, and I'm assuming this is because of the day we attended (sat). The beer tasting room was a little cramped & there definitely could have been more places to sit, but overall, it was an enjoyable experience. One I'm sure we will enjoy again. (don't bring the kids, they didn't really seem to 'get' the reason behind the tour) more

Tours are a shadow of what they used to be 6/16/2010

We took the tour about 4 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. We took it again June 11, 2010 and it was a waste of time. There was only a self-guided tour which means no conversational discussions or questions and the tour had been considerably shortened. We saw very little, learned nothing, and felt like a tolerated herd. The tasting room was very crowded which might not have been the case if the tours were longer. The whole visit left us with a sense of unwelcome-ness and even though we like their beers, we did not get any sense of loyalty to the brand, especially disappointing now that we have recently moved to the Denver area from Virginia. We think tours of other breweries might be more enjoyable and perhaps discover new brands we didn't know about. Pros: There is still free beer at the end of the tour Cons: No guides anymore and the tour has been shortened by a half more

Tours are still guided 2/6/2009

We just got back from a brewery tour, and they are in fact still pretty well guided tours including a quick tour of some history in the town of Golden. They include a sample of some beer that is less than 72 hours old, as well as three good size ""samples"" at the end of the guided tour. If you come with someone who doesn't drink much, you get quite a bit of free beer. Pretty nice lounge to drink and hang out in also. We'll definitely be back. Pros: FREE! Lots of beer, many selections, free. Cons: none. more

No more tour guides, no more fun! 9/3/2008

I went to the Coors brewery in December and had a fabulous tour with a fun tour guide who knew lots of facts about Coors and beer. Just went back this weekend, August 31 and there were no more tour guides instead you get a phone type listening device and get to guide yourself through the tour which has also been shortened. It is not what it once was. I wonder if this is related to the purchasing of Coors by Miller. Pros: Free Beer Cons: Shortened tour, no tour guides more

Like going to the Statue of Liberty- 6/26/2002

When you go NYC you go the Statue of Liberty, Arizona- Grand Canyon. In Colorado it is a must to go to the Coors Brewery. Just get somemone else to drive Pros: FREE BEER more

Is 40 minutes too long? 6/15/2002

If you'd like to get the three free beers and not waste your time learning how it's made, just ask for a ""short tour"". Park in the main parking area instead of the tour parking, walk right in. Go straight to the tasting room and gift shop area. They have loads of fresh flowers they grow in their own greenhouses, cool stuff on the walls to look at, and of course the FREE beer. more
