Eating Locally 9/23/2007

Cooking Accomplished! has been a great find for myself and several of my friends. The concept is simple; you go online, pick the entrees you want and the date you want to assemble them. The difference between Cooking Accomplished! and several other businesses like this in Portland, is quality! The owner is a trained chef. They have a commercial kitchen where all the ingredients are prepped by Shelley and her staff. Pros: The kitchen facility is beautiful. You can look out at the park. more

I would highly recommend Cooking Accomplished to anyone who loves food! 9/18/2007

Whether you are already a great cook, a want-to-be cook, or someone who struggles to cover the food bases, C.A. offers meals that you can be proud of. The recipes are creative and delicious, yet easy to prepare. There is a good variety of choices every month and the ingredients are fresh. For busy people on the run, they will prepare the meals in advance for you---a great plus. The atmosphere is very nice and the customer service is excellent. more

I entertained out-of-town clients at Cooking Accomplished, and we had a tremendous time! 12/8/2006

I had clients in town yesterday, Thursday, from San Diego, CA, and we had dinner at Cooking Accomplished. Our evening consisted of a cooking demonstration with a 4-course dinner. WOW! We had a fantastic time! Our evening began with our group enjoying wild mushroom gougeres appetizers, with French white wine, as we sat chatting around a coffee table in their comfortable sofa and chairs. We progressed to the seating counter around a cooking station for our meal, where we enjoyed a seasonal salad of local ingredients topped with a pomegranate vinaigrette that tasted like salad candy (my associate Laura said that she would never have believed that healthy food could taste this awesome!). We watched as our crab cakes and steaks were cooked to perfection right in front of us, and everyone agreed the crab cakes were the best any of us have ever had. The Oregon red wines we enjoyed with our dinner were the right compliment to our meal. For dessert, we loved the flourless chocolate cake drizzled with caramel and served with coffee whipped cream on the side. The Oregon Raspberry Aperitif we sipped with dessert completed a fantastic evening that everyone agreed could not have been more fun. Our night out with my clients was a huge success, and I do not believe we could have had anywhere near the good time we had, if we'd simply gone to a restaurant; even if we had a private room! more

Best Corporate Event 11/27/2006

I was looking for a setting to hold our fall customer appreciation dinner for 15 clients when a friend told me about Cooking Accomplished! in Lake Oswego. He said they offered high quality meal assembly, with fresh local ingredients, held wine tastings; cooking classes and also did private corporate dinners. I met the owner, Shelley McDaniel and explained our requirements. She did a tremendous job organizing a superb menu and wine food pairings. The dining room and horseshoe shaped client seating around the commercial demonstration area were setup with beautiful dishes and multiple wine glasses for each course. The dining setup is superior to most Portland area restaurants. Shelley's team also provided an area for us to lounge with our customers and to display our giveaway items. From the moment Shelley and Beth greeted us at the door we were charmed. There was a pre-printed menu next to each dish and when they reviewed the evening?s offerings my client's were ohing ahing like you wouldn't believe! As the event progressed we watched, learned and listened as Shelley prepared our customized gourmet meal and described the accompanying wine. Chef Shelley, (who I understand also used to have a gourmet catering business), takes her passion for and creativity for great food in a new direction with this type of dining experience. This is definitely the place to close the deal over a hands-on or demonstration cooking class, provide a special client thank you with a casual, wine-tasting event, or take the edge off of a client meeting with a professionally prepared lunch or dinner in a warm and relaxing environment. I will highly recommend Cooking Accomplished! to all our corporate vendors, customers and clients! I look forward to our next event with the confidence that you will provide us with a job well done! Dan Joslin, Regional Account Manager, Trend Micro Pros: High end dining facility, plenty of parking, parklike setting outside more

Great idea for easy meal preparation! 10/15/2006

We drove our Monaco Coach from La Jolla to Vancouver BC in September. We are always on the lookout for great food and wine. Restaurants and road food can be iffy at best and we don't always like to cook a great meal from scratch. We found Cooking Accomplished on the web and the location at 217 and I-5 was great. What really suprised us was the quality of the food! It was fun and the meals were wonderful. We had heard about meal assembly and doubted the benefits. But this place proved to be the exception. We often travel to Oregon and have friends in Lake Oswego. If you have a house in Bend or at the beach this is the way to go. We will be back for ski season! Too bad we don't have a place like this in San Diego. Pros: Very professional kitchen and space. Nicely decorated!!! more

Great food, excellent value and fun! 10/13/2006

Cooking Accomplished is new, so I went in the store to see what it was all about. What a neat place. It is primarily a meal assembly business, but also offers cooking classes and in house parties. The store is warm and cozy. I signed up on the spot to come in and make meals in one of the next day's session. When I came in the next evening, the owner greeted me, offered me a taste of a menu item she was testing for next month and a cool drink. I washed my hands, put on an apron and got to work. In about an hour, I had prepared six meals that I knew would be good because of the way the way the ingredients looked, all stuff that I would like to prepare meals with if I had the time. I took the meals home and froze them. They were all delicious, but my favorite was the Alaska sole mediterranean. It was a fish dish that took a few minutes of prep at home but tasted like it came from a really good restaurant. I will definitely be back. Pros: really nice ambience more

Best Meal Assembly, take out, food advice!! 9/7/2006

I picked up a couple of marinated flank steaks from Cooking Accomplished in August. We had a last minute party scheduled. The owner, Shelley, was so helpful with tips and even gave me a taste treat. I prepared the steaks according to the directions and they were awesome! I had several compliments to the chef. Since then I have gone back and prepared 12 meals. All of these meals have been great. Even my kids like them! My husband thinks this is great because it's saving on the time spent shopping, gas and it's great! We are definately going to use their meal assembly again and also have Shelley host a party. Pros: It's decorated woderfully and the staff is very helpfull. Great customer service. more
