Cookies Pet Corner & Wash

I was referred to Cookie's by a friend of mine who wouldn't stop trying to get me to try shopping there, ""just once""! He would tell me about the owner and how friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable he was - I finally stopped in one day, a bit skeptical - how good could a pet store be?\r \r Well my friend was right. The owner is awesome! I had some issues and questions regarding some medication and advice I had received from the other pet store in town - the owner of Cookie's fairly quickly determined what the problem was, and he even offered to let me take home some of the products to try before I made a purchase - he also carries the same ""limited ingredient diet"" dog-food at a slightly lower price than anywhere else I have shopped. His selection of products is huge - I've yet to go there and not be able to find what I needed. His selection of toys, foods, shampoos, flea treatments, etc - really seems to be the top of the line companies within each area. He's been in the industry long enough and has enough experience dealing with the wholesalers and distributors to know which companies produce the highest-quality products. His pricing is great too.\r \r The store is set up such that you can bring your pet in, sit down on one of the chairs / sofas and play with Cookie (the owner's dog), read the paper, or enjoy a cup of coffee and some conversation with Dan the owner.\r \r He has got to be the friendliest and most helpful small business owner I've run into in Port Orchard. It's always a pleasure to do business with people who first and foremost are in business because it's their passion first, bottom line second. I love Cookies, and now I'm the guy bugging all of my pet-owner friends to go here ;).\r \r He also has a free discount card, which earns you a percentage of the purchase back for future credit - about every 3rd time purchasing dog-food, I get my pup's wet-food for free because of the discount card.\r \r But really, I would shop here even if the prices were higher than the competition, because the service is so superior. I've saved myself from several visits to the Vet because of Dan's extensive knowledge and ability to advise the correct product, saving my little guy from the pains of experimenting with different flea treatments, shampoos, etc.\r \r The store also has against the back wall, a long row of individual bathing rooms for your pet - equipped with raised-floor showering booths, all of the shampoos, bathing tools, towels, etc. for bathing your pet - it's a great deal and especially nice to be able to bring your dog home nice and clean and have no at-home mess to clean up.\r \r Bravo! more

What a great experience for the true I love my pet lover...the place is very clean...everything you need to bathe your pet...big fluffy towels....shampoo...nice large tubs in your own glass enclosed bay...and the best part for our dog was the little bag of treats waiting for her at the end of her bath or during whichever you choose...all this for $25.00 for 50 min and as the owner told us bathe as many pets as you can for 50 min...and they do the cleanup...plan to go again in three weeks.... more

I haven't had the pleasure of using the self serve dog wash because I'm a cat owner, but upon walking in to the store I couldn't help but notice how fancy the wash rooms were! I really appreciated their selection of high quality, hard to find pet foods. Personally, I want my pets to eat what is best for their bodies and this store offers a variety of foods for different dietary needs. The owner Dan is very knowledgeable in cat and dog nutrition needs and how their bodies work to process the food. He recommended a great cat food and explained how it would benefit my animal's particular needs. I've never talked to anyone who knows their stuff as much as him. This is a great place overall. more

This place is fantastic! The self serve dog wash stations are the best. They provide everything and no hidden costs. They have a good variety of supplies and pet food. The owner is very friendly. Check it out.||[]Dave more
