Dr. Knapp is an ""old school"" pediatrician. He has a wonderful bedside manner with the little ones, but tends just to lecture to parents and doesn't really acknowledge their concerns. He is great for your average child, but if you have a child with special needs (or are not your typical nuclear family) or other forms of intervention, he is not the best choice. We have also been brushed off to the ER for care when he could have taken care of our concerns in office. Concerning special needs, we have been told by him that our child would ""grow out of it"" rather than encouraging us and guiding us to get the help we needed. We just didn't feel like all of our needs were being met, so we went elsewhere. He is good on so many levels, but he just wasn't a good fit for our needs.
Pros: clean office, get appt. easily, bedside manner
Cons: quick visits, glosses over concerns, too traditional
