Contractors Carpet Company
We had about 3,500 square feet of carpeting (Mohawk) installed by Contractors Carpet Center. We were disappointed that at the end of the job the seams were raised and highly visible. A couple of other contractors and carpet people we asked to evaluated them called them unacceptable in their opinion. When we called Contractors Carpet, Ed the owner came to inspect them, and he dismissed them as perfect and insulted our intelligence about our lack of knowledge. When we mentioned that the seams were so obvious that our friends noticed and commented on them, he suggested that we ?get new friends?. He offered to have the seams clipped to reduce the appearance. The workman came with ordinary scissors and began clipping the high spots of the pile along the seams. After a short period I asked the workman to stop so we could compare the results. It was worse; the seam was now a wider, sculpted depression. I asked him to stop, and called the owner, Ed, whose response to my complaint that the seams were no better, and in fact were more visible, was ""So?"" He then offered to send an inspector, at my expense, and would then ""see us in court"", (we only owed about $650 on a $17618.60 job which we had paid in advance, so for us it wasn?t about the money), and he threatened that we would be paying all of the costs, or he would be putting a lien on the house. His rude and condescending attitude and his court threats, and lack of help have put Contractors Carpet Company on our list of ""never recommend"".
