As a female homeowner, I constantly deal with many corrupt business people in Long Island, NY and have pretty much concluded that everyone is out to nickel and dime me. The one advantage of being underestimated in my case is that I became smarter when faced with a home improvement project. When I wanted a failing wooden fence in my backyard to be changed, I did my homework and determined material costs and what I would like to be paid if I did the job (I am a physician). I then researched all the names of fence companies in my neighborhood including those that were personally endorsed by my neighbors paying more closely to complaints rather than praises. None of the popular companies in Nassau County passed (surprise, surprise). I went to BBB and found a company in East Northport, NY with no complaints. I knew I had to pay extra for this non-local company to come to Levittown but it was more important for me to deal with REAL honest and professional people than to pay higher costs- so I called the company. The owner, Steve, came to inspect the needed work (only one side of the property) and gave me a reasonable quote. I asked for a small discount, which I got. In the end, not only did I get a superb fence (without face to face encounter), I finally found ONE sincerely honest professional in Long Island (other than myself of course). Steve of Continental Fence Corp, do you do kitchen improvements and additions?
