A caffiene addicts version of heaven ! 7/23/2008

Do you have a need for caffiene ?\r Do you need a special gift - right this mninute ?\r Do you like a decadant iced coffee on a hot afternoon or evening or a steamy morning ?\r Do you like being made to feel welcome ?\r Then come on down to Conintental Coffee and Sweets !\r Did I mention a huge selection of boutique wine ?\r You could become one of the many of us who have developed a healthy addiction to great service, friendly atomsphere and making new friends !\r OH ! The pastries are calorie free....just kiddng, but you could use rationalization to have one a week, and take your coffee for a walk around the block. Poof, calories are gone ! Pros: a bright spot in a formerly quaint village Cons: uuuuuuuummmmmmmmm, cannot think of any more

Decadent warm environment offering enticing sweets, exotic coffees, an array of fine wine & unusual items not found elsewhere. 3/27/2008

I don't get out too much (being ""crippled""), so my monthly wine-tasting means as much to me as the wonderful ambience of the Shoppe and the people there. When you walk in the front door of the shoppe an indescribely wonderful aroma greets you. The front room with a large sofa, & chairs, is tastefully done in warm colors and subdued lighting In the winter, the fireplace makes the room even more enticing. The Shoppe itself is a mecca of decadent sweets, exotic coffees, and tastefully decorated displays of the unusual, and reasonably-priced products that can't be found anywhere else. U R the best in Atlanta! Judith A. ""Crista"" Perry-Rogers Pros: Wonderful owners, helpers (friends) great atmosphere, unique items at value prices (esp. if member) Cons: small, cozy, out-of-the way quainte shoppe - do the rest of us REALLY have to share? more

Best Coffee Ever 2/25/2008

If you love Starbucks you will not like this place. The coffee is the best I have ever tasted and they have so many varieties (the most I have ever see). The last count was somewhere around 60. Some of the flavors are fantastic - like the Tipsy Pecan Pie. All of the flavors are roasted in the coffee instead of adding syrups. The service is wonderful - I cannot begin to explain how helpful they are and soooo friendly. Besides coffee they have a huge selection of \r unusual wines and even have a free - I repeat - FREE wine tasting with appetizers every 3rd Saturday at 6 P.M.\r They also have some wonderful baked goods and chocolates. But don't take my word for it, go see for yourself!\r mike james\r Pros: great coffee, great prices and service Cons: can't think of any more

Best coffee, friendly service, great gift ideas, a must visit place 9/21/2007

I have been a frequent customer of this establishment for many years, so I guess you could say I am hooked on coffee. The Village Blend coffee is the best I have ever tasted and everyone should try it. Every Christmas my family in Alabama gets a pound along with my sister who gets there great decaf coffee. They have wonderful gifts for any occasion along with collegiate gifts that are unusal. There pastries, gelato and chocolates are to die for, especially the coconut truffles. Yes, Stone Mountain does sort of look like an old west ghost town, but there are still some wonderful restaurants here that have great service and character. Currently, there is a Save the Balcony campaign going on because the city wants to tear it down in the name of progress. Please help save it, because it adds character to the building which is very old and quaint. If you love coffee and crave chocolate this is the place you should come to from any point in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Once you try there coffee you will be hooked. Pros: Friendly service, great place to lounge around and enjoy a cup of coffee Cons: Not any more

You have never had tea like this! The peach mango tea is the best thing I have ever had 8/23/2007

Not only does this place have great coffee and iced coffee and frapps but they have a PEACH MANGO TEA that is unbelievable it is so good. I don't care where you live you have to make a trip to get this tea. There is also a great little cafe upstairs with a balcony and really good food. \r Don't kist take my word for it - go and try it yourself. \r They also have a good selection of wines and desserts. The gift selections are also great especially if you are looking fo Georgia gif items or baskets. Pros: This is a small place with really good service and interesting gifts and boutique wines Cons: Although there is not much else to do in the area you can just sit there all day and drink coffee/tea and they don't mind. In fact they welcome you to stay in the comfortable surroundings. more

Best coffee I ever had! The Peach Mango Iced Tea is also a favorite. Very creative drinks 8/21/2007

This place has more coffee from all over the world than I have ever seen. They also have a huge selection of decaf coffee, which is hard to find. The place is comfortable, quiet, and a great place to sip an espresso or latte and nibble on some great pastries or chocolates (they have the largest peanut butter cup I have ever seen, they call it Reece's on steroids).\r They also have a great selection of wines that are very reasonable and not found at your local Kroger, etc. I signed up for their wine club which is great. They have all kinds of gift items from picnic equipment to tea sets to wine glasses to all types of Georgia products. The City of Stone Mountain seems to have gone downhill over the past year with a lot of empty stores but this is definitely a bright spot and worth your trip. If you think you have had the best coffee think again. Once you try this you will be hooked! And the customer service is great.\r Take my advicee and make this trip. Pros: Personl service, comfortable surroundings, best coffee in atlanta, wine list is also very nice Cons: located in an area that does not have much else to offer but some pretty good restaurants. more

great coffee and customer service 4/5/2007

Like Stepping back in time, this is a cozy friendly place where you can sit by the fire and just enjoy being with friends. Some of the friendliest customer service, and this is such a pleasant surprise in today's environment. The owner is a certified Barista and made me one of the best cappuchinos ever. They have a really old cappuchino machine and the actually use it instead of the modern machines. I had a dessert that was recommended by the owner called a cashew bird's nest. Positively adictive! in addition to all of this they have so many varieties of coffes to choose from it was almost imposible to choose one - but I did. The Creme Brulee, another recommendation by the owner, was ground fresh for us and is fantastic!\r They also sell wines and have free wine tastings. Really great place to chill out. Local restaurants were also very good. Take a trip and experience the historic village - near the Stone Mountain Park. You will not be disappointed.\r M.B. Tucker, Ga Pros: Personalized friendly customer service and fantastic coffee and pastries Cons: Parking can sometimes be a problem more
