The Continental is only 2 blocks away from the Rosslyn Metro station, at the corner of N. Moore Street and Lee Highway. If you know where the Georgetown bus picks up and drops off, you just keep walking to the end of the block and on the corner you will see the orange sign for the Continental. It's a great place for getting a group of friends together after work (more on their happy hour specials in a minute) to play pool--there are about ten tables there--or check out one of the board games available, like Jenga, Trivial Pursuit, Uno. There is one giant screen TV and several other TVs at one of the bars.
It's a very large space, with two bars, but is sectioned off nicely in alcoves and booths so it is possible to have a little more privacy. The decor is very Jetsons-meets-tiki lounge. I think they have some of the best happy hour food specials in the area. First the hours run later than typical happy hours, from 5-8pm during the week and also on the weekends. I'm pretty sure they also have a late happy hour past 10 or 11pm as well. All for under $4, you can get a large plate of chicken wings, either jerk chicken (my favorite) or the hot, buffalo-style wings, chicken strips, hot dogs, or quesadillas. A large basket of fries is $2.50. Portions are generous here and could easily be made into an inexpensive dinner.
There is usually a nightly drink special, the last time I went it was Stella Artois, otherwise drafts are $2.50 and rail drinks are $3.50 (had to check their website on that). When I've gone usually it's right after work and while there is a good crowd, it's not some place you are going to have to push and fight your way to get a drink. The servers come to you to take your drink and food orders. On the weekends it's much more crowded, although I have always been able to get a table with minimum waiting.
