I moved into this area over a year ago, I spent so much money looking for a new hair stylist, paid unbelievable amounts of money for unsatisfactory results.

My husband and I have been a client of Contemporary Hair Design and Beth for many years. We enjoy the atmosphere and convenience of the salon. The stylists keep up with the current trends, styles and products. They truly care about providing great service and pleasing their customers. You never feel like they are rushing through your appointment. They give you the attention and service you deserve. \r \r Beth always gets my color and cut exactly right. She is just as talented with mens styles. Beth has a great personality and really loves working with people. Fantastic Stylist 9/8/2011

I recently moved from Fla and was very anxious about getting my hair done by a new stylist but Jan put me at ease she cared about me and my hair! She wanted to try to match my color as close as she could and she did an awesome job she also recommended some products to me but wasnt pushy about it which put me at ease I would highly recommend her to any of my friends..... more

Diana Kemplin has been doing my hair for years and I wouldn't go to anyone else. She's extremely skilled with styling and color and I don't know what I would do without her. I would like to HIGHLY recommend her for any type of hair services for the entire family. Her dependability, skill set, and resonable rates will keep you coming back. Jan is an insightful hairdresser that sees the 'you' in the cut. She is personable and skilled at cut & color and is such a pleasant person to talk to. Jan is a good friend and I have known her for many years. If you are looking for someone creative, kind and dependable,then you will find it at Contemporary Hair Design. Convenient Location----Great Service 5/18/2011

Located on South Alex Road with close access to I75 and I675 for those gals and guys who want convenience and great service. I have had my hair done by Beth for many years. All the stylists are friendly and professional. The salon is bright and cheerful. They are in an exciting redecorating mode right now with some new chairs and dryers and more is planned in the near future to keep them on the 'cutting edge' you might say.. So come in and check them out. more

Jonesy has been doing my hair for several years, She is the best in color and cut, and style. She goes that extra mile to make sure you are completlely satisfied. I get many compliments on my style and high lights. The salon staff is very friendly, and I would reccommend JONESY , she is the best!! more

Consistently Provides Precision Hair Cuts 9/19/2010

I think you'll find that Beth and the other stylist there do an exceptional job. Through the many years that I've had my hair cut there I've asked for little adjustments here and there. Beth writes them down in a note book and makes sure that she doesn't forget them the next time I'm in. I guess if I were to sum it up, Beth consistently provides precision hair cuts the way I want them. I think all of her staff is this way. If you want a really good hair cut, I doubt you'll find a better place. more

Long time business doing things right. 9/3/2010

Beth has been cutting my hair since the 70's and I have never had a bad cut. If I had, she would do anything she could to make it right. She employs a very professional and friendly staff who can do anything from a full style to a buzz cut. I would never go anywhere else. more

Beth has been cutting my hair for over 10 years. She always makes sure I am satisfied with my cut and color. She is always willing to listen to what I want and help me try something new. I have always been completely satisfied with the service and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this salon for both convenience and price! more

Great Cuts! Great Suggestions! 8/23/2010

I've been getting my hair cut here since 1978 and that's while living in Ohio, California, Florida and North Carolina. Beth is definitely worth a plane ticket home. She'll do exactly what you want and make it look great. She'll also help you out when you're not sure what you want so you can find the right look. The salon is clean, comfortable and professional and everyone is very friendly. I would not go anywhere else in the Dayton area; and neither would my husband, brother, mom, aunts, uncles and cousins! We're all long-time CHD customers and couldn't be more pleased. Give them a try and you will be too! more

I've been a happy customer since 1994. I get my hair cut and colored by Beth every five or six weeks. I'm willing to make the drive down from Vandalia because I trust her completely with my hair. more

Contemporary Hair Design has been our choice for years! There's no one better than Beth McClain for us. My husband and I see Beth and so do my daughter, son-in-law, and our three grandkids. Beth always has time to listen to what we want and then follows through. Don't hesitate to stop by. Very friendly place. more

Need a new style or keep the current one? Visit this salon! 8/22/2010

My husband and I have to going to Contemporary Hair Design for many years.. I have been to 2 of the hair stylists and have been very happy with both. Beth currently colors and styles my hair. She is very attentive, makes sure that she styles my hair the way I want it and takes her time. All the sytlists are very friendly and helpful. No matter what you want, a foil, a cut or a color, it seems that someone there can do it. As in the comment before me, the salon should reflect its name of ""comtemporary"" and update the interior a bit. I have spoken to friends of mine, and the price I pay for a color, cut and style are resonable. I would highly recommend this salon. more

Fiance highly recommends 6/1/2004

My fiance and I just moved to the area a few weeks ago and decided to try this place out. We found it on Citysearch, but had never seen the salon or heard of it before. The exterior and interior leave much to be desired, but the service was good. My fiance has a military cut (very short on the sides and longer on top) but despises the ""flat top"" look that many stylists tend to cut. A lady named Tish cut his hair and he was extremely happy with the cut and cost ($16.50). This says a lot since he is very picky and usually does not like new stylists. The owner, Carol, cut my hair and she did a pretty good job too (but I felt it was overpriced at $23.50). Overall, it was a good experience.
