I know that the field of social work is less than thrilling and due to the lack of funding, there are bound to be corners cut as it pertains to office decor. The things that makes me cringe at the thought of FSA-Elgin is the staff turnover. There was a time when you could rely on an individual to work with you. These days, you never know whether you can expect the same staff member each visit. That doesn't result in a trusting relationship, which I thought this was all about. more

  • Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS), located in Elgin, Illinois, is a non-profit community service offering financial advice, debt management, and educational programs. We have been educating people on how to live within their income and rehabilitating people burdened by debt since 1931.

    We are a service program of Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area and are affiliated with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).

    Our services include:

    ? Avoid filing bankruptcy
    ? Minimize legal proceedings and collection problems
    ? Salvage delinquent accounts and rehabilitate customers
    ? Prepare for home ownership
    ? Review credit report
    ? Promote financial literacy
    ? Financial seminars and workshops

    We restore self-reliance and family well-being to people with money management and/or debt problems. Our programs and services are designed to provide you with the tools and advice needed to get back on a positive financial track.

    We are not a charity organization, a lending institution, or a collection agency. Our counselors can help you through the whole process of understanding how to manage your finances and maintain a debt-free future.

    We have payment plans as an option for our clients.
